Not the update I was expecting to get from the top 2026 prospect in the country, but Stewart said he really hasn’t heard from Texas much lately. He did recently visit Ohio State, USC and Oregon and enjoyed all three of those trips. “I haven’t really been hearing anything from Texas,” Stewart said. In speaking with someone close to Stewart, Texas was in his top five before the contact dropped. Should Texas pick things back up, he said they’d jump back into the picture. This summer he’s got plans to hit a bunch of places, including Ohio State, USC, Miami and LSU. He was supposed to visit Texas this summer but is unsure of that trip as things stand right now.

Wants to get to Penn State, Oregon, Texas, Texas A&M, LSU and TCU this summer. Visited A&M and LSU recently. Actually talked to Texas WR coach Chris Jackson this weekend. Said they talk a lot about family and stuff, not just football. Jackson said he’ll be up in DeSoto this spring to see him. Going to narrow his list down to 10 early at the end of the spring or the summer. Said Texas will definitely make the cut. “That’s not even a question,” he said.

Visited Texas on Friday and picked up an offer. Wants to come back for a game. Is looking to come back for the Georgia game in the fall. Said he really connected with Jeff Banks and likes Banks’ passion. Also likes the way Texas gets the ball to the tight end. He doesn’t have a list, but said Texas is “definitely high up there” after Friday’s visit.

Has a Texas OV set up. Also has TCU, Kansas and Arizona State visits. Visited UT recently and said he liked the intensity of the practice. Also likes the connection he’s building with Johnny Nansen. Of the ones he’s looking at, he said Texas is up there at the top. Wants to have a decision in July and it’ll ultimately come down to where he feels most at home.

Said Texas “is an awesome school.” Being local is appealing for him and his family. Loves Flood and Sark and the direction they have the program going. Said Flood is a really genuine guy, isn’t going to sugarcoat things and tell you just what you want to hear. Wants to branch out this summer and see places like Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Georgia, Clemson.

Was at the UT spring game last week and really enjoyed that experience. “Going to Texas is always a fun time.” Really likes coach Flood and the relationship they’re building. Said Texas has always been high on his list and that’s not going to change. Sister is starting at UT this summer and a cousin that goes to school in Austin. He said that does help Texas a little bit.

Picked up a Texas offer in March and came in on April 13 for a UT visit. Said he liked the coaches and how coach Flood coached up the offensive line. Liked the physicality Texas showed at the practice he was at. Said he’ll be camping at Texas this summer. At this point, he said he doesn’t really have any favorites.

Committed to Texas A&M on April 19 but said he’s still going to take OVs to Texas, USC and TCU. Really likes the new A&M staff and the energy they bring. Texas OV the weekend of June 14 but he’ll visit A&M the week before that so it’ll be interesting to see if A&M shuts those other visits down. The interest in Texas, he said, is because of what he knows about Flood and Sark, and the fact that Texas had such a good year last year.

Visited Texas for a practice in March and got to sit in on the QB meetings. Said that was an awesome experience and they run a lot of the same plays at Evangel that Texas runs. Has a great connection with AJ Milwee and said he loves the energy Milwee brings to practices. Texas hasn’t offered but said they’re definitely one of his top options. The staff said they’ll watch him this spring and he could get an offer. He’ll be back in Austin this summer for a camp.

Was sporting OU gloves today. I asked if he was going to keep the door open a bit but he said he's completely locked in with OU. We'll see. Long way to go with that one.

Talked to Taz for a bit but he said he's not really hearing from Texas anymore.
