Red River Shootout week is here

yes i do. he didnt do shit in the second half. 140 yards in the second half and 60 of that came on our last drive
Poor field position dictated conservative play calling in the second half. Thompson had less time to throw thanks to a gassed OLine allowing OU’s D to key on #5.

Poor tackling (again) in the second half and another poor performance from BJ Foster killed us. X Worthy made a huge mistake running out of the end zone on that kickoff, (even though his monster game almost makes up for it).

Sark did not play, as far as I recall.
He's a natural quarterback, and a more accurate passer than Hurts. He's still raw, but potentially has Sam Bradford's arm and Jalen Hurts' legs.
He should give them back.

Well, our guys can't cover anyone beyond 10yds so it's a wash. 😆

I think the betting line is about right. Rattler is great at hitting the deep open route but your receiving corps isn't as elite just yet as it usually is. We allow shots over our head all day long....not good for us.

Texas's key to the game will be playing clock from the opening kickoff and limiting sooner explosive vertical passing. If the game is within 2 scores in the 3rd qtr I like our odds because that rb room pays dividends on a tired dline.

Oklahoma's key should be to get up big early to make Texas pass in the 2nd half. Thompson has the arm but not accuracy. Anyone not named Whittington or Worthy can be manned up and nullified thus far.

Texas wins a lower scoring game 31-27
or
Ou wins a shootout 51-44
Holy sh*t GF did you just nearly call it or what!?

Fresh nailed it. Though, I do disagree a little on Casey's inaccuracy. No QB makes 100% of their throws, but Casey is definitely a good QB. His accuracy lay somewhere between above average and very good

I agree with Casey being good but not great....yet. He's definitely on the right track. I like him and honestly was pretty shocked when Card was named starter to start the season.

It's kind of difficult to grade our qb play because there are so many other fallacies to factor in. O-line break downs & wr route running surely play a huge role in missed opportunities. If 1 of the groups played lights out we could more easily pinpoint the issue but we have work to do everywhere.

Overall Casey has performed incredible within this offense and 40+ pts SHOULD be enough to beat anybody so problem numero is defense.

Casey is currently ranked as the 4th highest rated QB in the nation in terms of QB rating. I think we’re good at QB.

I just saw that........ damn. If only that boy had a really good throwing motion.

That's pretty wild. I guess all the drops and overthrown deep bombs tend to linger on the brain more than his overall performance.

Now, let's see if qb guru Sark can live up to the hype and further develope Casey into a Heisman finalist in yr 2.

I'm calling it now. Casey, Bijan, and Xavier together in NY next year! 😆 Too much sunshine?

With Williams hopefully now the starter at OU and Rattler coming in for 2 pt. Conversions etc. it’s conceivable Williams could win the Heisman and Rattler come in runner up. Has that ever happened before? Riley already working magic

Well the way it sits right now, I don’t know how high Rattler would get drafted? I’m assuming someone would take him but no guarantees. It’s in Rattler’s best interest to keep working on his skills even if it means handling backup duties for the rest of the year, I don’t always agree with Riley but he made a comment about that the other day and mentioned that as a rule most coaches aren’t inclined to take a player that quits halfway thru the year.

If Williams is the starter it’s probably in Rattlers best interest to entertain transfer offers but do it once the season ends but who knows, that’s what his dad seems to indicate may happen.

It's already showed after the game he wasn't present for then team pic on the field and from the video I posted he went into the locker room by himself. He tried to save face by twating....

I would be probably very pensive as well, if I were Rattler. He is very young and has a lot at stake. I don’t necessarily mean his starting job, but the millions he pretty much already had in his bag. Tough position for somebody his age. It isn’t the end of the world because he still has talent and can be productive.

If you notice he was escorted off the field because Riley didn’t want the media messing with him. Understandable.

Rattler's draft stock has fallen considerably. Bell, you're right. As much as his ego is probably bruised, he should stick it out and finish this season and do whatever the coaches ask of him. Then in the offseason, he can decide whether he wants to transfer or not. It would be a really bad look for him to walk out on the team now. I've said it from day one, Rattler is not first round material. I can't see him having much, if any, success in the NFL. OU whiffed on him. Sometimes it happens. OU got it right recently with Mayfield, Murray and Hurts.

I won't be surprised if Riley names Rattler the starter this weekend against TCU. Riley has to keep Rattler engaged. He's not 100% sure yet what he has with Williams. If he makes Williams the starter then Rattler automatically becomes disengaged and doesn't care about the team. If Williams starts but plays poorly forcing Riley to turn to a disengaged Rattler that would spell trouble. Riley needs both QB's ready and engaged each week.

That’s what me and the rest of Sooner fans are dreading. I don’t remember Saban having a problem making a change from Hurts but them again he’s all Championship coach

If he does that then he loses the risk of losing the team. You can't just start a guy because you're scared he's going to leave at the end of the season. You put the guy in who gives you the best shot to win and it was obvious Saturday that guy is Williams. From all accounts the team has been wanting Riley to make the move for a couple weeks now.

Agree. It’s a fine line .

According to Tim Shepherd, who says he spoke with someone inside the OU Athletics Department, Spencer Rattler is no longer with the team and will explore future options via the transfer portal.

If this is true, he's hurting his draft stock even more. As a UT fan, I hope it is true.

I would think it would be extremely difficult to transfer mid-season so, if he leaves the team, he's probably going to focus on whatever he pursues next season - either at another school or preparing for the NFL.

Has there ever been a story like this in college football? Pre season Heisman fave. Concessions #1 pick…. Now gets benched and perhaps not going to the draft, but rather transferring. Not sure I’ve seen anything like this.

Way to try to twist it, but unfortunately you are dead wrong and I was right.....

Oklahoma's Lincoln Riley cancels press conference after student paper reports Caleb Williams, not Spencer Rattler, takes first-team reps

Not sure who Tim Shepherd is, but do you have a link or credible source for this?

Dead wrong about what? You posted a video of him leaving the field after the RRS He had a guy with him escorting him off the field, just as I stated? How am I wrong? What are you talking about? Get ahold of yourself and stop acting like a mouth breather. You act like you saying he may transfer is breaking news, what the hell else would he do if he's not the starter? The only question to ponder is when?

If this is proven true Rattler is probably thinking he'll just go work with his personal qb coach, I didn't even know he had one until he was asked for comment after Rattler got benched. Rattler can't practice with another team if he transfers out during the season this year is my understanding.

Again Bell he took off on his own was not in the team pick with the golden hat. Rattler being the prima dona he is probably has an escort on campus too. Just like the Netflix series looks like they should of followed him at blowu as well. He definitely has the nicest vehicles on campus.

Hey i texted my buddy during the 3rd quarter asking him if he thought Rattler got a cab at halftime. The writing was on the wall at that point. And yes I’ve known he wasn’t in the team picture, everyone does. I haven’t seen anything that convinced me he has already left the team though. Some are claiming his name isn’t on the online student registry but that’s flawed because our 2 morons that got kicked off before the season are still on the registry.

I think Riley is kind of butthurt in this whole deal too and is mad that the OUdaily website reported that Williams was taking first team reps. Who cares? Is Riley scared of TCU that has to conceal who is starting to take them by surprise? Dumb. For Christ's sake Riley's brother at SMU absolutely embarrassed TCU a couple weeks back, use the same game plan. So now it would not surprise me one bit to see Riley trot Rattler out there as a starter just to thumb his nose at the press reporting on his practice etc. and act like they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Btw canceling the media availability yesterday in my opinion was more a direct result of the oudaily website reporting on OU’s practice and Riley didn’t want anyone answering questions about the qb situation, I don’t think it was because Rattler has left or some crap.

Also props to OUDaily for letting Riley know in his press conference that the student body etc. think Rattler walks around like an entitled asshole to which Riley acted like he had no idea about whatsoever. Whatever.
