Red River Shootout week is here

Don't discount OU gave up a Kick return in the last minute and dropped 2 int. right in our db's hands. OU won. KSU will give Texas alot of problems I guarantee it
After this saturdays game, wildcats are by far the toughest team left on the longhorn schedule.

He’s put up numbers against bad teams. Until he does it in a big game or against a quality opponent I’m not sold on him. It’s ok to take your orange colored glasses off and give a fair analysis. He really
struggled last week and really wasn’t under much pressure.
Wasn't under much pressure? He got sacked 4x!! That guy that played for the first time this year probably had the best game of his career. And one of them was a coverage sack. He embarrassed Christian Jones. We were the better team that's why we won. TCU couldn't stop the Bijan and with the exception of the goal line stand the ol got the job done. But they will have to play much better this week. We dominated time of possession. Unlike Strong and Herman Steve Sarkisian did not make Patterson look like he was a genius.

Do you think we can stop Brooks and Rattler?
I haven't watched ou this year other than highlights. ou is a good team, there is no denying that. They are ranked #6 in the nation for a reason. Many people on here are just laser focused on every single Texas deficiency and I just happen to be bullish on how this team is coming together. I know it is a work in progress and we want to be objective, but ignoring the positives is not good. BTW, to answer your question, Rattler is no Murray. He will get some scrambling yards just like every other QB. However, we had some guys over pursuing on the DL in the AR game, but if they stay home as they are assigned, Texas can contain him for the most part.

That's what I'm thinking Kennedy Brooks scares me I think he has home run ability. I agree with you Stogner needs to be involved. There's no reason for him not to be involved this deep into a season he's got to be injured. And Marvin Mims has not been as involved as he was last year. But OK has so many receivers that can take it to the house. I still think it's got to be us stopping their run game especially Rattler's scrambles.
OU's receivers that all share snaps and catch really well:
Mike Woods
Haselwood
Mario Williams
Marvin Mims
Stoops

Woods may be the most lethal to date this year but all the other ones can both run and catch pretty well.
Stoops probably the most sure handed but not likely a deep threat.
Wease, Darby, Jackson are out with injury.

Our TE/FB Stogner, Hall, Willis all catch well. Hall will probably get some carries

Rattler isn't a huge downfield scrambler he's kind of on par with Mayfield in that regard. What Rattler really excels at is rolling the pocket which opens up his throwing lanes. He's very accurate when on the move. If Texas can't pinch him up on the outsides and keep him stepping up in the pocket, it may be a long day.

As we all know, Vince and Colt were absolutely perfect in their first few starts for Texas. That’s the only reason we ever beat OU. It was their immediate stunning perfection.

Now this guy...ehhh I don’t know he’s made a couple mistakes. Yeah he’s got more TDs than mistakes, still, ya know uhh, just gotta write him off. He can’t get it done.

Hey guys it's only Tuesday we got 3 more full days of this and a couple of hours on Saturday. Some of you may need to pace yourself before you stroke out. The good news is the sun will still rise Sunday morning regardless of what happens Saturday in Dallas

Don't interfere. We are determining the winner now so that the game won't even have to be played

Let's lighten the mood with this bygone RRS classic memory. And speaking of Case, to this day I still cannot believe he beat OU. I would have bet everything I had that OU would win that day.

Already striking an early conciliatory tone. I see your dilemma though. You either come across as an OU douchebag or you play friends on a competitor’s board. We’re gonna kick your ass this weekend.

As long as I get under your skin, which I apparently have in this thread, mission accomplished, right? :)
Watching some of you guys who haven't been here long get worked up and full of Pre RRS angst is quite comical. And just for the record, win or lose I'll be here, will you? I pinned my score prediction at the top of this thread, give us your thoughts.

Ceiling Case may be watching you, but Chicken Shack Joe Mixon will punch you if you're a girl.

Damn dude. Can you calculate how many corn dogs you've had in that time span?

C’mon man. Don’t ignore the fact that if Skyler was healthy you now have a 3 game losing streak to them. Yet, your D still nearly found a way to lose to an obviously disabled QB.
He didn't look too disabled to me. Threw 3 TDs. Looked about the same as last year when KState won in Norman. Only difference was Rattler was the better QB.

I picked OK to win by 49/14. We had played terrible leading up to the game and OK had embarrassed the previous 2 seasons. We had a pick 6 and a punt return and couple more home runs in the passing game. And Blake Bell was probably the most overrated of the OK qbs of the Stoops era.

I'm enjoying all of the OU fan bravado. You guys know that this OU team isn't all that. They've struggled in every game so far this year. Be sure to come back here after the game on Saturday after Texas wins and give credit where credit is due. Texas is a better team this year and they will beat OU. Can't wait!

The last 2 seasons OK hasn't had that one receiver who's the difference maker guys like Sterling Shepard, Hollywood Brown, and Cee Dee Lamb. But they keep humming along how many td passes did they drop on us last year 4? 5?

The more I think about it the more I think we're going to have to win in a shoot out.

Really? That’s what we’re doing? We’re just gonna ignore that he couldn’t use his best weapons, his legs? C’mon now.

You do realize a lot more goes into a sack than just the offensive line not blocking? For instance if you have a QB who is indecisive and takes a second extra to get the ball out that's not all on the offensive line. You should only expect your line to hold their blocks for 3.5 seconds, after that it's more on the QB. Against TCU Casey had a couple of plays where he looked gun shy. I don't think all of those 4 sacks were on the offensive line.

Preangst? No. Been to too many RRR games. Some good some not so good. Under my skin? No. You're just a tool. I'll be back on occasion like always. As far as the game goes, I already pronounced an ass whippin is coming your way this weekend. I'd say that pretty much clarifies my thoughts. Or do you need me to draw you a picture?

I really have no clue who wins this game, obviously hoping for an OU victory but this match up seems pretty even and looks to be high scoring. If it is close, I lean towards an OU victory. If it is a blowout, I see that being a Longhorns victory.

Now let's talk about special teams. I can't remember the last time I saw TX play so bad on special teams. A blocked punt, and fg, and a personal foul on the punter.

D'shawn Jameson is on the verge of busting out maybe this is the game. Punt return or kick return D'shawn can do it. Does anyone know if Ryan Bujkevski has retired? He hasn't played and he's had an ACL on both knees which is not good if you're a punter. Cameron Dicker is not that good of a punter. I can't remember his name but I know he's our next Australian guy.

Just remember this about their kicker Gabe Brkic. He's only missed 3 fg's in 2 years but last year in ot against us he shanked a 32 yard fg. When I think of the missed opportunities we had last year.

Just as long as you come back after the game to give credit if OU wins. You seem a little too emotional, you seem a little nervous?

I'm going to say this now, when Texas wins it throws off the big 12 for a cfb appearance. Okie lite will be the only team undefeated. Texas has okie lite next week and then there is still bedlam. The schedules for Texas and blowu are still not easy.

Sooners take off this saturday. OUr game planning probably hasn't changed much except a particular attention to Bijan for obvious reasons of course. Sark's gotta figure out how to play the big boys in the 12. TCU was as close as they've come for you so far. Sooner's dline is going to infiltrate that oline of yall's cancelling Bijan out. Casey's gonna have to pull one out of his ass to win this game. IMHO. 😁

Just some stats to play with:

Texas Opponents..........Louisiana........Arkansas........Rice........TTech........TCU
Rush Defense Rank
...........99.................81............108............39.........112
Rush Yards Allowed PG....174...............150............193..........118.........204
Texas Rush Yards............170...............124.............427..........336.........272

Hard to believe Texas is this great rushing team when their yards are padded against teams ranked as horrible as these teams are.

What's funny....look at TCU and TTech. I totally would have guessed the opposite.
