I think it comes down to Texas just outscoring OU. I don't think that the Sooners can match Texas point for point. And as always, it'll come down to turnovers, mistakes and breaks. I think Texas definitely wins the game.

41-27 good guys 🤘
For reasons I can't explain or understand I'm looking at these betting lines. Going by what you explained to me OK is favored by 4 and the point total is 64 more or less. You say 41/27 TX so the point total is close. The good guys can win this year.

You know we're 2/6 against OK and all games were agonizingly close. A penalty, missed assignment, it was always something. If our new coach is a winner maybe we can avoid these things and come home with the Golden Hat.

And if that happens can you imagine the look on the OK fans when they see the son of a former qb wearing the Golden Hat?

This game will depend on our O line. OU has a good rush defense so you can't count on Bijan being able to have his way and get us out of every tough spot, he will get some but we won't be able to lean on him like we did vs TCU. We will need to throw the ball, can our O line give Casey time?

As much as I hate to say I don't know if we win this game. I haven't seen anything from our defense that makes me think we can stop their offense. I know our offense can put points on the board and i'm not worried about that but I just don't see our defense holding them under 35-40 points.

We will have to outscore then of that is the case.

I will not be able to watch this game except bits and pieces on my phone........will be in little rock ark with my daughters travel team.
That being said, my gut feel is we make just enough plays to win this one. I see RJ throwing a pass from wildcat. I see maybe a fleeflicker. We do something that gives us a cheap score that keeps us ahead of them. I see OU panic when it gets late and they can't put Texas away. I feel Rattler makes a huge mistake late. Forces a throw for INT or fumbles.
Lets say 42-35 Texas

Here's some current stats headed into this game. Looks like OU is favored by 3.5 from what I've seen

There are so many “what ifs” that come to mind as I looked at those stats. The most glaring are ou’s under performance on offense (which I feel is much better than what we have seen) coupled with Texas’s ground defense which is pretty bad statistically. The AR game didn’t help Texas’s stats but, it is an improved offense with Casey. If ou’s offense was rolling, I would probably pick ou because a good offense that scores at will really does affect both offense and defensive aggressiveness. Great matchup this year due to the unknowns. Tx 38. ou 31

Casey's been good, but he can't throw the deep job.

Nope. And half the time his short passes scare the sh!t out of me because he's a coin flip on whether the ball will be caught, or tipped.

You tip balls around OU DBs and it never ends well.

I shouldn't post this in case Sark is lurking but OU's linebackers have shown a propensity to leave rb's uncovered in the flat inside the 10-15 yard lines. Opponents have scored 4 times this year on a short pass out to the flat to the uncovered rb. I have no idea why our linebackers have not been covering that.

You may want to put in a little extra time in the prayer closet this week or you may get more of this. Golden fro with a gold hat

Oh it's going to be caught. The coinflip is if it is caught by a receiver or defender.

Eye roll

Casey has a better long ball than Ehlinger, so at least that is a good thing.

Well, our guys can't cover anyone beyond 10yds so it's a wash. 😆

I think the betting line is about right. Rattler is great at hitting the deep open route but your receiving corps isn't as elite just yet as it usually is. We allow shots over our head all day long....not good for us.

Texas's key to the game will be playing clock from the opening kickoff and limiting sooner explosive vertical passing. If the game is within 2 scores in the 3rd qtr I like our odds because that rb room pays dividends on a tired dline.

Oklahoma's key should be to get up big early to make Texas pass in the 2nd half. Thompson has the arm but not accuracy. Anyone not named Whittington or Worthy can be manned up and nullified thus far.

Texas wins a lower scoring game 31-27
or
Ou wins a shootout 51-44

I can see Bijan giving us trouble on the short and underneath passes. We don't seem to want to cover that part of the field.

Denzel Okafor is out for the season after that injury against TCU. But Is that really a bad thing?

Yes I know Kerstetter will move over to Okafor's spot And Karic will move over to Kerstetter's spot.

Touting OU’s rush defense is absolutely meaningless at this point. You guys have played nobody with a pulse, and the one QB that would’ve ran all over your D was hurt and couldn’t run. You got lucky. No such luck this week.

Texas 45
OU 28

OU scores a late garbage time TD to make it look closer than it actually is.

I don’t know but nice of you to jump in with the buzz kill of the week. Here’s ur sign.
What you want to act like it should be ignored? And we're talking about Okafor not some AA. Why are you guys so defensive about Okafor and Kerstetter?

I can see you’re a little prickly this week. Maybe even a little anxious. What’s got you so amped up? Perhaps a little Rattler indigestion.
