Let me preface this by saying credit to the tree nuts. They earned the wins and are a really good team.
BUT
Tennessee game
First TD was an absolute dime to #4 with good coverage. Perfect passes can't be defended and Howard threw his lifetime share of perfect passes the past two games.
Second big play that led to a TD was pure luck, falling through the arms of the defender into the hands of #2. Nice play and all, but luck played a big role.
Third TD was a long run play by Henderson with some of the worst run defense you will every see. An absolute shit show of poor fits and bad angles.
21-0 game over
Oregon game
Some really nice scheme plays by Chip Kelly to get to mid field. Wrinkles.
TD on a drag route to #4 behind the line - 45 yard TD. Bad tackling. Bad angle by the safety. They ran a similiar play to #4 against Tenn early. We will be ready to blow that shit up.
Second TD was a chunk into coverage to #2 - hits the DBs arm before #2 gathers it. Nice play and all, but perfect coverage and some serious luck to make that grab into the sun. You can even see the WR has his eyes closed.
Perfect pass into double coverage to #4 leads to a FG to make it 17-0.
Absolute blown coverage and gawd awful safety play to #4 deep leads to 24-0.
Horrendous run D by Oregon led to a long run TD by Henderson - terrible run fit by the linebacker - missed tackle by the safety. Just bad D.
I say all of this to say that, yeah, they beat the shit out of Tennessee and Oregon - but did so on the strength of numerous big plays they have a small chance of repeating against Texas.
This Texas defense can stop the Ohio State offense. I think they score low 20s.
The more pressing issue is what can our O do against what is clearly an elite defense. In Sark and Quinn I trust.
