Sam Cosmi Opts Out

Cosmi, the Captain, did not opt out of a Bowl game. he opted out of 20% of the season plus a bowl game. I think anyone who opts out screws their teammates, but I get it, there is no honor in playing for something besides yourself. That said - Captain Cosmi took on the responsibility by allowing himself to be named Captain. A bad move on his part.

He opted out when there was nothing left to play for. And unfortunately we got a peak as to why players make that call with Derick’s injury. You guys are getting too caught up in the “captain” stuff. There are like 10 captains lol

What TX game you were watching on Saturday? The TX game I watched had a bunch of players who acted like there was something to play for. SE talked about having fun and playing with pride and they succeeded on both counts.

UT had 7 captains on the 2020 team. That’s 8.2% of the scholarship players. A lot less than 50%. The team selected him as a leader. He quit. Nothing to play for? What about his teammates, the love of the school that paid his freight for the last 4 years, the former players that created the tradition he enjoyed over the last 100 years, or the alums and fans that support him? Shame on him, and shame on you.

After the bowl game well be 8/3. And you want to fire a coach at that point? With that record no good coach will want to come here. CDC and TH talk at least once a day at least that's what Herman says. And no press conference nothing positive? Herman is a good coach certainly better than Charlie Strong. 8/3 does not get us is in the conference championship game, which means the season was a failure. This was the best roster Herman has had and he couldn't get it done. We are losing a 4 year starter at QB and at least two first or second round draft picks. What makes you think he can do better next year? The talent was there, the experience was there, the coaching was not.

in 1941 The Red sox were playing a DH on the last day of the season. After the first game Ted Williams was hitting 401. the first time in years anyone had a chance to finish over 400. His Manager and team mates told him to sit the second game to insure his legacy. He sais if he couldnt earn his average, he didnt deserve it. He played and went 3 for 5 to finish at 406 I think. He is the last player to ever do that.

Cosmi elects to sit.....thats his business, but dont expect any kudos from me.
