Shaka loses his only non-garbage assistant

The Northern Kentucky Norse? Wow. What an honor it must be for Shaka to be such a great coach that his assistants aren't leaving for head coaching gigs at UCLA or Minnesota or Wake Forest or some other P5 school---- oh no--- we are losing coaches to Northern Kentucky.

Good job coach!

Good job coach!

Brannen did a fantastic job at NKU and got them in the tourney twice in only a few years of D1 existence. Good area and growing.

Horn is pretty terrible but Brannen built a program that should allow him to job jump pretty quickly from there. Have to give Horn credit for staying ahead of this mess and this was his last chance to get another head coaching gig.

Woosh.

Totally missed the point of my post. Texas ast coaches in any sport should be ear marked for P5 or non-P5 contenders.

This job is neither and it's a testament to the lack of commitment to Shaka and the future of the program. This guy was the canary in the coal mine. Had he left for Memphis or Xavier of St. john's-- that's understandable. But to leave for a tiny "emerging market" program-- it has the feel of him jumping ship to avoid impending doom.

I didn’t miss the point.

It was a garbage staff the day it was announced and no one worthy was going to hire Horn. He got a much better job than expected.
