Guys from the very jump I stated that Texas schedule is just as tough as Oklahoma due to the way the schedule was set up not the teams y’all play per se. I know you all you guys have heard is Texas has the easiest schedule but like Kyle mentioned he has a good point, he stated Vandy beat Bama, Arkansas beat Tennessee, Kentucky beat Ole Miss and A&M beat LSU.

Looks like the pussies from the national media are complaining about Texas schedule.... Last time I looked, Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, and Texas A&M are better teams than 95% of the nation will play this season. It's not our fault that Michigan and Oklahoman have not held up their end of the bargain.

I do like this tho... all this bitching will make it home to our team's eyes and ears and hopefully light a fire under their ass. This well could be the impetus that pushes us to another National Title. **** them

I don’t agree with 2300 a lot of the time, but I endorse this message. 😉

Honestly the truth of the matter is a lot of people having a hard time accepting that Texas is good

Texas needs to win out or we out.

I lean toward agreement. I think if we lose at Arky, but win at A&M there will be a sliver of hope. Lose the last game of the year at A&M to go 10-2 and that resume argument is going to pick up steam. Texas will have had zero wins over quality opponents on the road. I don't think it would hold up.

Just win your games and it doesn't matter.

I’m not sure people are dogging your schedule. You are correct that before the season started that schedule looked good. You couldn’t predict the whole staff would leave along with most the starters for Michigan. I can’t agree that Michigan and OU are in a category that’s better than 95% of what people play. If Texas beat Georgia no one cares what your schedule looked like because you beat Georgia. The easy schedule comes in when your best win is Vandy. I think Texas has a good team but I see where people say prove it by beating someone good from a national perspective…now, I can say that for a crap load of teams this year. There is no dominant team this year.

BBA, I can agree with your overall point but I would also argue the same logic applies for you guys. Who would you say is your “signature win”?

I’m not defending A&M. It’s my point that we could go through every team and find flaws. Ole Miss looks great but lost to Kentucky. Tennessee lost to Arky. Georgia got manhandled by Ole Miss, Bama lost to Vandy, Currently A&M has LSU and Missouri on their schedule as ranked wins…I know, you don’t have to explain what they are but both teams could be 9-3. Say what you want and I can understand the eye test but the committee sees 9-3. Missouri should get beat this weekend and if Lagway is back it wouldn’t shock me if Florida beats LSU. Then, the “quality wins” take a hit. You can go through all SEC teams and find a bad loss or meh wins. BUT, I was just stating that I could see where people would say what has Texas done when they were handled by Georgia fairly well and showed some weaknesses. Again, here me say Texas has a good team and you may very well be really good, but there are issues like all the top 10 teams have. There isn’t a team that would scare me to play in the top 10. I just think it’s pretty damn even this year

-Oregon has a nice resume. Beat Boise and Ohio St. Toughest road game was at Michigan and this week at Wisconsin

-Ohio State has a tough 1 point loss at Oregon. They beat Penn St., but they always do. They have Indiana this week.

-Texas got handled by Georgia. Best wins are at Michigan and at Vandy. Texas will need to win out more than likely to make CFP

-Penn St is doing what they do every year. They are a benefactor of being highly ranked pre-season, lose to Ohio State and get a few close wins on the road against "tough" opponents. Go to a bowl game and get the shit kicked out of them. We need Minnesota to come up clutch and knock these posers out.

-Indiana has a terrible resume. Hardest game is coming up this week. If they get blown away by Ohio State, you can say adios to their playoff hopes. If they have a close loss and then beat Purdue, they are in as an 11-1 team

-BYU should be #3 in my opinion. Undefeated. Win on the road vs. SMU which isn't a terribly hard environment, but still a quality road win. Road win in a rivalry at Utah, who isn't great but still a good win in my opinion. Blew out KState at home.

-Tennessee has a very good win at home vs. Alabama. Non-conference is dog shit. They have a chance this week vs. Georgia to solidify their place. I don't think they win this game, but will finish 10-2 and probably get an at-large spot

-Notre Dame has a very good win at Texas A&M, blew away Navy who is a bit overrated, but still has a nice record. Decent win vs. Louisville. Best remaining game is against Army of all teams, lol. Notre Dame will win out and could end up with a top 4 seed.

-Miami is smoke and mirrors in my opinion, but that QB is so nice. Love his trajectory from little ole Incarnate Word. Benefitted from some iffy calls late in games. Very good second half team. 50/50 on if they make the CFP

-Alabama has 2 losses, but probably the best collection of wins of anyone in the top 10. Beat Georgia, South Carolina, Mizzou and LSU. Went to Wisconsin in non-conference and blew them away. That Vandy loss is a killer.

-Ole Miss has 2 losses as well, but some quality wins too. Wins at SCAR, and at home vs. Georgia are good wins. That Kentucky loss is a killer

So I guess the point I'm making is, almost everyone has a shit resume at this point. Most of these teams have a ranked opponent left and/or a championship game. Most of the teams in the CFP will have earned their way. There will be about 4-5 teams for 3 spots and some bitching about resume, LOL. Doesn't matter how much you expand the playoff, there will always be 1-2 more teams that there are spots and bitching about resumes.

My top 12 right now

1 - Oregon (Big 10 Champ)
2 - BYU (Big 12 Champ)
3 - Notre Dame (Independent)
4 - Alabama (SEC Champ)
5 - Ohio St.
6 - Texas
7 - Tennessee
8 - SMU (ACC Champ)
9 - Penn St.
10 - Ole Miss
11 - Indiana
12 - Boise St.
-----------------
13 - Georgia
14 - Miami
15 - Texas A&M

I don't think the committee is taking out SOS into account as much as the national media is making it out to be because they wouldn't have us at number 3. I'm in the minority in thinking that we get in at 10-2. Whether it's right or not, I just think the brand bias will play into the equation and that's exactly why I don't think a 10-2 Texas gets left out.

Another thing, people are dinging us for a weak schedule, but Ole Miss lost to Kentucky at home, Bama lost to Vandy, and Tennessee got beat by Arkansas. If we beat all those teams it just looks that much better IMO and I think the committee is going to take that into account.

I don’t think Texas gets left out as long as the loss isn’t to Arkansas. Even then, if they beat A&M then I still think you are in. It’s going to be hard to leave the brand of Texas out if they are 10-2 and sitting betwee

Yiur commentary I can get with but not too sure about your rankings. BYU is way overrated. They haven’t really had to play a difficult schedule either. I’ll take whoever they play in the playoffs -17 at least. SMU wins the ACC without playing Clemson or Miami. If SMU loses the title game they should be gone. They too will get throttled. Alabama currently seems to. E finding something right now so I would put them at 2.

You absolutely right that’s why I mentioned in my post thread that Kyle had a very good point.

The ranking reflected BYU being an undefeated B12 champ. I don’t think they’re a top 5 team. And I think they lose soon.

I'm so sick of the media talking shit about Texas schedule. We were told that we could not play a SEC schedule and so on. Now that we have they wanna say the schedule Texas has is weak.

People are just saying who you have played. You have played the bottom half of the league. Then when you played Georgia you were handled so that is what I’m hearing. You avoided a typical schedule. Your first road night game is in College Station. It is what it is. If you keep winning, it’s all irrelevant. Michigan gets put as a key win for Indiana because it is one of their best wins by looking at their schedule. Their schedule is ranked like 116th. With Texas, Arkansas and Vanderbilt have the best records that they’ve played. If Texas loses at A&M, then I still think they get in. I don’t see how a committee would leave them off. However, the argument would be that the best teams they faced they’ve been beaten by. Texas has a good team. They played the schedule they’ve been dealt. to keep winning none of it matters.

They've played Vandy on the road and beat them. Vandy beat Bama. Also played Arkansas on the road, who just so happen to beat Tennessee. They play Kentucky this weekend, who just so happened to knock off Ole Miss. I'm not trying to hear anything about the schedule because the teams Texas are playing have knocked off some of the top teams in the conference.

Texas' strength of schedule is 36th in the country. The difference from say 15th to 36th is pretty miniscule. And with all the parity in college football this year, anybody can beat anybody on any given Saturday. On top of that, Texas is 4th in the country in average margin of victory at 25 PPG. They are handling business.

Agreed. We can play this game all day long. But if we want to make a quick comparison let’s look at the common opponents this year with aggie. We’ve handled all of them (FL, MS, Arky) substantially better than ATM. We’ve got a game to play tomorrow but it’s obvious the football gods have the ATM game set up as the season’s epic matchup. It’s prophetic. I am actually going to be rooting for ATM tomorrow. I want next week’s game to mean everything.

You can compare but we played Florida at Florida with their number 1 and 2 quarterbacks and not on their 3rd string running back and not missing multiple players. You got them at home with their 3rd string QB and a laundry list of injuries.
Miss St was on the road for us and home for you. Arkansas you can have being on the road although you have played every road game during the day. I’m just saying maybe that isn’t apples to apples. You are a good team, and I do believe you are a top 5 team…I think. Someone else said as did I that this year things are wide open. There just aren’t dominant teams this year and everyone has holes. I too want us to play for all the marbles just because it would be one hell of a fun week and epic Saturday. I’ve got my tickets ready to go!

If Colt wasn’t hurt in the 1st quarter against ‘Bama during the ‘09 MNC game, Texas would have another crystal ball in the trophy case….

….see how that works?
