We will need to score 27 or more points. We will need to have some sustained drives. I don't think we need to pressure the QB and gets sacks like last year vs. Young. I think you make Milroe find receivers and try and create havoc with 4, maybe 5.

Bama will get some points, they will move the ball. We need to create turnovers, not have penalties and protect the ball. We need to play clean and execute a majority of the time.

We have enough talent to win, but they have to play well.

We have to strike early, TD on first or second drive. We have to force them out of their plan. We can't play from behind.

Depends.... are they gonna have SECSECSEC refs or are we screwed with Big 12 Refs?

I will say this, ive been a huge QE supporter and everyone knows it im sure..

but this week is the PUT UP OR SHUT UP WEEK.

QE needs to come out and show his hype, show his potential and give this team a chance to win. He cant be the weak link.

Agreed. He needs to show the world that he is NFL 1st round draft + Heisman material. This is his time to shine.

Sark needs to eat a little humble pie and call plays to our strengths. Stop all the deep outs and call some quick space plays to give Quinn some help. Go to minute mark 23. IT explains the problem.

That’s ridiculous. 1 game isn’t going to decide the season or his future. He hasn’t even played a full season of college football yet.

Just watch Cade Klubnik tonight at Clemson. Same age as QE and as highly rated as a recruit. He looks like complete dogshit against Duke. It takes time for QBs to develop. It’s not add water instant product with these guys.

I didn't say Ewers needs to win the game alone or he fails Saturday. I said he needs to NOT be the weak link. Show flashes and improvement in this big game. Especially if we wants to big a 1st rounder next year. Remember we arnt talking about a sophomore like Colt who will be back for his Junior year. Everyone is talking like this is QE last year at Texas. and if it is..he needs to ball out Saturday.]

Trust me brother..im all team QE

And the one thing I’ve tried to pump into peoples heads for a year straight now is that Quinn may need another year. Everyone assumes he’s gone after this year but I’m not sold on him being gone.

It wouldn’t be a bad thing at all if stayed another year. Arch redshirts this year and sits behind him again next year and then he’s ready to go as a redshirt sophomore. It would be better for him in the long run. He should know that by now because him skipping his senior year of high school kind of bit him in the ass. That’s a lot reps he missed out on that year. Instead he was at OSU buried in the depth chart running scout team. That’s not doing shit for his development.

I’m kind of in the old school mentality and think it’s good for QBs to sit for a year or 2 before they play. Especially in a super complex system like Sark runs. I hate the idea of playing freshman QBs. Even the great ones like VY struggled mightily his freshman year. I still remember when Mack had to bench him and put Mock in to finish a game Because he looked so lost.

im with you. I want Quinn back next year and Arch to start his sophomore year. Yes you will lose Murphy but im whiling to do that.

Well oldhorn I don't know why you would have a game between the SEC and the ACC with Big XII zebras but they did. I'm telling you they called 2 pf on the noles on LSU's first possession and 4 pf's on another and they didn't score either time. Are these guys auditioning for an SEC job 😂

Usually when it's a non con game the visiting team brings their zebras. That being the case I don't want the guys who did last year's OSU game . And I don't want the guys who did the OK game 2 years ago. Do you remember that OK didn't get called for a penalty till they're were 6 minutes left in the game?

How you doing oldhorn?

WR need to be able to create separation at LOS for quick game to work. Unless we're talking bubble and snap screens. Or we have to use motion...a lot. That helps guys create space off the LOS.

I think Ewers is going to come out guns blazing against Bama and light them up. For whatever reason, he seems to show up against the really good teams and when the lights are brightest. Then lays an egg against a crappy team. He plays up/down to the opponent.

That's not the most admirable trait.....

It’s his new haircut isn’t it?

This is what I want. Win or lose. No, ‘what if’s’! I want a fully healthy team against them for once, for the entirety of the game. A complete measuring stick of the up and downs and overcoming adversity as a team. Just saw an article or post about Deon not having captains on the CO team. They have L’s and D’s on their jerseys. Leaders and Dawgs. This game will tell us who’s ours.

I've decided to be positive this week. And here are some reasons why.

1. A very successful, well known sports handicapper I know has always said, "the public always has the biggest overreaction to week 1 play and results".
This means I'm not going to overreact to Rice, and that I am going to maintain confidence in this talented team

2. Anyone who thought our o line would fair as well as they did against Bama last year is a liar.
I have faith that we will be able to protect Quinn at least the same as we did last year. That protection gave us a chance in last years game.

3. Weirdly I think it's better we didn't dominate Rice the entire game. There's a much different feel during the week when you know you need to get to work in practice, vs killing Rice and everyone telling you that you are the greatest thing in the world all week.

4. I believe we are taking a more talented defense to Bama than we had in Austin last year.

*I was talking to Ketch about how bad we were on third down last year on both sides of the ball. UTSA and ISU were the only games we won where we didn't have the higher 3rd down conversation rate. However, in both those games we won the turnover battle.
In all of our losses we had the lower 3rd down conversation rate.
I've decided to call that a trend and stick with it.

If we have the higher 3rd down conversion rate and or win the turnover battle, then I think we likely win on Sat.

My official prediction is us +7. (Losing by less than 7).

Point 3 is a good one. They didn’t set the world on fire. And they know there is work to do.

Sark just learned we can’t rely on a RB up the middle for 4th and 1. That is pretty damn valuable info don’t ya think? I don’t think he’s insane to repeat that against bama. So I’m going to assume he’s a genius and he’ll adjust the game plan.

How awesome it is to have a good enough team where you can just play a little what if. 50+ points was not his goal.

Big boys up next.

14-10 bama. I need to have more confidence in our OL and running game than what we witnessed against Rice.
