Damn right. He knew he couldn’t stop us. Why not let us score quickly to insure they get the ball back. We win if we kept running it and chewed more clock.
I can’t stand all the negativity in here. We have lost 3 games by a total of 9 points. You would think we were 1-8 judging by a lot of you pessimists in here. We sit at 6-3 with a very likely chance to finish 9-3. Herman is doing a hell of a job in a very competitive conference this year . We are back on our way to the top some of you need to realize this doesn’t happen overnight
You get it. Its too bad that others can't see how much progress Texas has made. Herman has got this program on the right track. People need to be patient.
Man, I don’t want to be a jerk, I really don’t, but this is absolutely freaking stupid. You just confirmed that coach A got out coached by coach B because coach B told his defense in a tied game to go ahead and let the other team score.

If a coach makes a bad call, it's the coaches fault.
If a player makes a mistake, it's the coaches fault.
If a player isn't good enough, it's the coaches fault.
The coach is always an easy target, because I don't have to know anything about football to complain about your team losing.
Everyone LOVES Sterns and Foster, hell I do too, but nobody has mentioned the missed tackle by Foster last week and the absolutely inexcusable horse shit deep help fail on WVUs last TD by Sterns today.
Because Orlando doesn't teach them how to cover, tackle, or be discipline. Our coaches and players spend all week playing Fortnite and just show up on Saturday for the game.
I'm not going to say this to be a contrarian, but I've seen this happen before. Years and years ago, a small school in south Texas, Sinton, was playing another small school in a playoff game. Nobody could stop anybody. Track meet. The Sinton coach told his D to basically fall down and let the other team score to take a four point lead. They did and Sinton got the ball back with a minute or so to play. A kid named Ruben trigo, threw a touchdown pass to another kid named David seago to win the game with no time left. After the game the Sinton defense told the news about their plan.

I've seen a few rare times when a coach told his team to let the other team score late in the game. Today wasn't one of those days. WV didn't "let" Texas score there at the end.
I’ve seen that happen when you’re going to run out of clock. I saw Florida do it because the other team was going to have a 20 yard FG to win with no time left. But to think a college coach is going to tell his defense in a tied game to let the other team score quick from 75 yards away is lunacy.
I guess we should have let them score so we could get the ball back. But they would have just let us score again. So we would have had to let them score again, inorder to make sure we had enough time to get the ball back and score one last time.
This. Let’s step back & see the big picture. We lost 3 heart breakers that should be forgiven in year 2, under a new head coach. Should our defense have played better? Sure. Our offense kept us some in games & our defense kept us in some games.

We lack depth. Championship teams should have little drop off from starter to 2nd string.
Took Saban 3 years. Dabo 3-1/2 years. Harbaugh still hasn’t won the conference year 4.

I never said they let us score. I said he probably told them to not worry about getting beat deep, especially once it got under three minutes.
Did y’all not hear Dana Holgorsen‘s post game interview he basically confirmed that Texas scored too fast and he absolutely knew with 100% confidence he would be able to score and make the two-point conversion it was the most cocky interview I’ve ever seen
Texas gets no respect because we are the doormat of the Big 12. This program has fallen to the lowest level in a very long time. We will be lucky to win 1 more.

Driving really well when a holding penalty (unrelated to the gain) on a 1st down run put us back. We could have gone for it on 4th down, but we chose to just go up by 7.
Not blaming the offense for the loss. But, they had a chance to go up by 2 scores and squandered three of them while the defense was keeping WV from scoring in the 3rd quarter.

I know I can’t be the only one who immediately thought after celebrating the TD “sh!t they have too much time left”. I’m not saying Herman necessarily did anything wrong, but Holgerson may have been thinking two steps ahead. To me it’s not that far fetched.
4th and 1 we should of gone for it in the 4th we were running the ball on them. Take more time off the clock and we would of been up by 10.

If you score 40 in college, you should win every game. Period. Our defense let us down because of injuries and lack of depth. We must improve.

True,but freshman do make mistakes and why some coaches do not want to play them.

When you have a 1st and goal from the 4, you should score a TD every time. Period. we must improve.
If Herman kicks that field goal instead of Sam not getting the first down or if Herman doesn’t call that timeout at the end of the half they miss that field goal. That’s 6 points we left off the board. We should have won that game by 2 scores.
