actually Bell....I give you credit for a very clever troll.
For the uninitiated...Bell is a good guy, he cant help that he is afflicted with sooner pox. He is a good football guy and doesnt take stuff too seriously....which is the way I advise to take his posting.

While you and I disagree on most things if you mean what I think you mean than yes I agree with you this team is on the verge of a breakthrough. Bijan Robinson is the superstar this team this team has desperately needed for so long. The man did have a winning record. And to think this all happened over a song.

Tom Herman has a LONG list of embarrassing moments. And "the song" means a LOT to a lot of alumni, POC even.

Supposedly we (Texas) identified our coaching replacement (Steve Sarkinson) before firing Tom Herman.
That fits what Chris Del Conte did with the women’s basketball hire figured out who he wanted then made the move.
I hope he does well, but I have to say that if someone was going to lay out a "peak Texas" hypothetical for a laugh earlier this year, it would have been what actually played out. I don't even say that in a bad way, and I'm not here to troll.
I hope Sark does well and that UT does well. It's just amazing to me to see a huge-ass buyout to the previously hot coordinator on a natty-winning team, who did OK, to hire another hot coordinator on a natty-winning team, especially with that guy having been "7-win Sark" at his prior jobs.
Obvious hope is he has matured, was hindered previously by issues he was going through at the time, and learned a lot from Saban. That all is possible. There are a lot of ways this could fail, though.
I get critiques of "money-whipping" at A&M but man, it's hard not to see the virtue of paying $10m to a coach who does what he's supposed to (borderline playoff team, even if we can question how good they really are) instead of cycling through wages at 3/4 of that level and paying buyouts every few years for second-rate hires, resulting in more outlay, less certainty, and lost decades. I see why Tennessee, Nebraska, UW, or other top-20ish situations with facilities and money do that. I don't see why UT screws around with it.

In all seriousness it'll be interesting to see who Sark employs as his DC. It seems inevitable that a new coach will want "his guys" as coaches. Btw from what I've seen of Sark his offenses are good and as long as he can bring in a decent DC Texas should be back to winning imo

I wonder if keeping Ash was discussed prior? Great offensive mind, the offense is immediately fixed. I am not sure the risk/reward test makes sense on this hire.
Maybe the extra 0.1 you gave Sark will be the added benefit of:
1) Players≠Peers
2) Not going for it on 4th and 1 simply for the sake of going for it on 4th and 1.
These may be good for 1 extra win per season

Weevil Steve Sarkanian wth? He was at SC, another blue blood, and couldn't deal with that little weasel Pat Haden how can he be trusted with the regents? I talked about the culture problem weevil. Imo, Hartzell, CDC, and SS aren't the ones to bring it back.
