The only AD that matters is the last one hired, and going by his recent moves and hires I am willing to trust his decisions. I’m willing to wager there was a lot of vetting going before the final decision was made, including probably speaking with Saban himself.

Yeah I think this move has been in the works for sometime. There was probably a ton of background work done not only on Sark but a few other guys. Lane kiffin got an extension from ole miss the same day this was announced. Probably not a coincidence. Wouldn’t be surprised if we reached out. CDC’s coaching hires so far have been home runs. We will see about this one.

I agree. I will give CDC the benefit of the doubt. However, if I knew Sark was going to be the new HC, I would rather have Matt Campbell.

Now here's the question: Sark made a name for himself as an OC. Does he continue to call plays at Texas or does he hire an OC? That's where I think alot of teams go wrong, they hire an OC or DC as HC and then the new Head Coach proves he should have stayed at said Coordinator position because he is a horrible judge of coordinator talent.. I'll put it this way, do I want Riley as just the Head coach and not the OC? Hell no, I'm not sure how great of an HC he is but he's a damn good OC

I’m more optimistic about Sark than I was Herman. Sark won 9 games his first year at USC. He very likely would still be there if not for his personal issues which he owns. If Nick Saban who can hire any coach he wants is willing to bring him in then I trust he does have those personal issues aside.

The thing that did Herman in more than anything was a lack of experience and maturity. Sark referenced in his press conference that he had to grow up a lot himself. I think he’s actually ready for this challenge.... we will see

I’m surprised there isn’t much excitement about Herman’s firing. So many wanted him gone, now you got your wish!

As for Sark, I actually like the hire a lot. I think he’s an upgrade from Herman and not many coaches were interested in the HC job here.

Yeah I think most people didn’t have time to react. It all kind of came down at once out of nowhere

You got that right most good coaches don't want to come here. But everyone on here likes a guy who coached 6 1/2 years who's w/l percentage wasn't as good as Herman's. Go figure

I’m not surprised no good coaches want to come here... the “we’re Texas!” Attitude used to be a plus. Now “we’re Texas!” Isnt a positive. It’s turned in to no one is good enough for our club. Coaches just don’t want to mess with that... they don’t have to anymore either. They can make great money anywhere
 
If there’s one thing to be excited about with Sarkisian it’s his track record with QBs. He has produced some really good QBs and that is something we have really struggled with since Colt left.

From a recruiting perspective I think we will better off. If Sark can develop the needed relationships with TX high school coaches we should be ok. He should be known by just about any recruit.
 
The good news for Sark to is the schedule next year is easier than it’s been on past years. You should be 3-0 heading in to big 12 play, with that start you should be able to win 8-10 games which should help you build some equity and recruit

Herman is a clown. I'm glad he is gone. Hopefully it works out. If not, we'll get 4 years of the exact same as what we had with Herman and then try again in 2025.

I have thought about the hiring and I'm still surprised. All the candidates had the upside if winning a NC with Texas; there is no disagreement there. A couple of coaches downside could be missing church on Sunday or spilling a Pepsi at dinner; I chose Pepsi because said candidates are rather bland but have a propensity for running a good football program.

The other candidate's downside runs much deeper. Think of a scene with Tom Herman, empty bottles, a dirty glass table, a one legged woman of the night, and a midget -or- a little person. I don't understand the risks taken when there are good coaching candidates out there. Candidates, that if they failed, no one would question.

Tom Herman may land at Boise. Kellen Moore is going to stay with Dallas and the guy Boise hired as AD today was on the hiring committee that hired Herman at Houston.

I am someone who has been married for more than half my life. I had married friends who became ex friends when I found they were beating their wives. Yeah I've been divorced but I didn't beat her actually I've never hit any woman because my mother raised me better.

I say this because is in this whole sordid Zach Smith mess the forgotten person is Courtney Smith. We now know that everything she said Zach Smith did was the truth. And somehow tOSU fans have sympathized with ZS which shows how whacked tOSU fans are about buckeye fb.

And I don't need to go into the UM involvement in this. But from my experiences husbands like ZS say things that aren't true. And I don't think TH did what ZS accused him of. You know why ZS hates the Herman's? Because when Courtney moved out and Michelle Herman loaned her money for her to go nursing school then she told UM's wife that's the whole story. And TH will land on his feet somewhere. And ZS will remain the a**hole he is.

Remember there are a select few who are calling the shots and its not the prez or the ad. Remember in the last decade TX has had 3 hc and 4 ad. Actually there have been 4 ad since 2013. Combined with those select few that I mentioned who don't know a f*cking thing about fb. and you have the toxic culture that is TX fb. You guys just don't get it high profile coaches don't want to come here. There is no winning culture here anymore and people with too much power and to much fb ignorance are killing our once proud fb tradition and we'll just end up becoming NB.

Agree. Pretty confident Bijan knows who Najee Harris is and what AL’s offenses have done. SS should have the attention of any offensive recruit particularly RBs, WRs and OL.

Well, TH has been paid $25 million +, so I'd guess he's on his feet.

There's three stories here and one truth.

His side. Her side. The middle and the truth.

He's a dick. She's a nut bag. They both did drugs. He wanted to be a swinger and she went along with it briefly. When she no longer wanted to swing, he started stepping out on his own. He got caught. She threatened him. He got pissed. She started a fight. He escalated it. She ran off for help and Tom and his wife who were participating in some of the activities and out of guilt, they helped her. Zach gets pissed that Tom and his wife stepped into his territory and egos got bruised. Then the he said she said started. Tom tried to stay out of the fray but his wife is a busy body and she got more involved. Zach came after Tom's wife and Tom stood up for her by taking a pot shot at Zach's wife. Now Zach's wife is pissed at Tom and so is Zach. (Allegedly)
 
I'm optimistic about Sark and am glad that Herman was shown the door. Everyone deserves a second chance. I think that Sark has grown and learned from his past mistakes. Working for Saban has been good thing for him personally. Time will tell how he does in Austin, but moving on from Herman was the right thing to do for a lot of reasons.
