TH fired.

I'm optimistic about Sark and am glad that Herman was shown the door. Everyone deserves a second chance. I think that Sark has grown and learned from his past mistakes. Working for Saban has been good thing for him personally. Time will tell how he does in Austin, but moving on from Herman was the right thing to do for a lot of reasons.

Going by the man's timeline it appears his alcaholism caused his marriage to dissolve. And since were starting to talk about marriage if SS starts to struggle some people on here will take cheap shots at his personal life.

Charlie Strong had 3 consecutive losing seasons, that’s why he was fired. He wasn’t the guy.

Tom Herman’s stupid coaching decisions were so obvious, he was good for 7 - 9 wins per season, lost to teams in the Big 12 he had no business losing to. Then, Texas played such an inferior opponent during bowl season (most of time), we should blow them out, because we should have won more season games (if not for coaching blunders) & be paired against an opponent of equal talent/ranking. That’s what got him fired.

I’m so tired of people saying & believing this garbage that a coach is incapable of winning without “his recruits.” We are looking for a championship coach, not a good coach. A championship coach is winning 9 or 10 games by year 3 or 4.

I don't see people taking pot shots at his personal life unless he does something here that adds to his negative legacy.
If he ends up being a 7 win coach for a few years the dialogue will be "see, he was a meh coach at Washington and a meh coach at USC and he's still a meh coach at Texas."

Now if he goes out and pulls a Soggy Burrito and gets arrested for DWI well then ya, the boozer jokes are going to write themselves-- and deservedly so. But I don't think folks will point out the obvious if he's just a middle of the road coach, which he is, while he's here. It will simply be chalked up to a failed AD and a failed BOR that made another crappy decision.

Weevil Steve Sarkanian wth? He was at SC, another blue blood, and couldn't deal with that little weasel Pat Haden how can he be trusted with the regents? I talked about the culture problem weevil. Imo, Hartzell, CDC, and SS aren't the ones to bring it back.

I honestly figured you'd be happy with this hire. Sark is a BYU guy who learned under Lavelle Edwards and Norm Chow. Interesting little Tidbit, in 1996 Sark was the BYU QB who beat the Aggies in the Pigskin classic.

Texas finally gets a coach from the Edwards coaching tree, something I've been wanting since the 80's. Back then Texas always had one of the best defenses in college football but our offense always seemed to be from the stone age. Then I would watch the old BYU teams that could destroy anyone with their passing game and no matter how crappy their recruitng was, they always had great QBs. I was envious of their offense and thought comebine the Texas defense with that offense and Texas recruiting and you'd have something special.

I'm sure you're having harmless fun wasatch and it is funny. But Sark is Armenian/Irish Catholic 😃.

And I do remember that BYU team where Sark was the qb very well. They went on to beat KSU in an exciting CB they finished 6th.

And while they are few they are few, like 2.5% of the student body few, there are some non LDS at BYU. Ironically most of them are athletes lol.

I played with and against a few guys that ended up at BYU. Earl Kaufman, Derwin Gray, Ty Detmer, and Tim German to name a few. Kaufman and Detmer converted while they were there. German was one of my teammates in high school and Gray is now a minister for his own church.

i hope that Sark has his shit together. our kids deserve that after the last 4 years.

BYU has been a college football QB factory for a long time. McMahon, Bosco, Young, Detmer . . .

I was not thrilled at first, but I now am very optimistic about Sark. I don’t know if you have seen the short interview on LHN between Lowell Galindo and Chris Del Conte. He gave a good perspective on Sark’s time at UW, USC, Atlanta and Bama. He mentioned how important the coaching assistants will be and you could tell his frustration with TH when he said “we lost some games we should have won”. CDC gives me a lot of confidence that he knows what he is doing.

Well said. Criticizing him before he has ever stepped foot on campus is ridiculous. People want to bitch about Herman but when they finally make a change they bitch about that. Maybe he can get Milroe to flip back.

S*rew Milroe. He decommitted to AL because we got a commit from a 5* qb who wasn't coming until Milroe was already enrolled here. Forget about him.

Milroe was never enrolled at Texas and did not transfer to Alabama. He was verbally committed to Texas. All he did was break a verbal commitment.

My bad.
What I meant to say is he broke a verbal commitment to us because we got a commit from a qb who was not due to enroll till 1 year after Milroe. I still say forget about him. I mean what's he going to do if he can't unseat Thompson or Card?

Did you ever think he didn’t want to be a part of the shit show of a program and had nothing to do with any of the above things you mentioned?

Who cares anymore about Herman, he's gone and Greyhound bound...good riddance, waiting to see what our new guy is gonna do...
