From reports every recruit that UT is after and every recruit already committed will be in Austin on Sept 15th against USC.

Think this is a good idea

If UT is 2-0 going into this game it can push the Horns into the Top 10

More importantly will there be enough positive energy around the program to seal the deal

Time to turn the page at UT.....

Bru McCoy will be on campus for that game among other highly rated recruits.

If Herman is going to have success recruiting Southern California the staff needs to create connections at Mater Dei.

Best way to do that is show those recruits that SC is a dying program.

SC a dying program? Compared to what?
You okie's can't read can you?

He said, the best way to attract recruit from socal is to beat SC's arse and the kids will see SC as a dying program.

With chip kelly in town, whooping USC would be a nail, not the final one, in their recruiting coffin.

Financially.
TCU brings in the same amount of money into their football program as USC.

This hurts them in hiring and keeping assistant coaches.
Texas was able to hire Herb Hand as a 10th assistant while SC promoted a graduate assistant.

I like it. All in! IMO, this is going to be a defining year for Texas football, and in a positive way. Herman will prove that he was a very good hire.
Hell yes! We're kicking ass this year. It's time. The USC game is going to be epic.

It is a bit of a gamble, yes. But I think as long as we play well like we did last year, it shouldn't hurt us too bad. Let's consider though that last year USC went into that game with playoff and Heisman hopes, we suffered serious injuries, played a true freshman, and still almost won, in SoCal. This year they've lost their QB, they aren't as high as they were, we are in Austin, and we have tons more experience. Unless something crazy happens, we should win.

If we get blown out, bad. If we play competitive but lose, and USC goes on to have a stellar season and we end up with 8 or more wins, it won't ultimately hurt us. But if we beat USC, it'll look great. Now we just need Austin to go nuts in the stands despite it being a 7pm kickoff. I know UT faithful is opposed to gimmicks, but this may be the time for Herman to try a black-out the stadium or white-out the stadium or something, to get the fans especially insane enough to turn some plays our way.
