After scrolling through the Rivals 2026 class, I was surprised by the lack of super blue chip recruits from the state of Texas.
Take a look:
A few takeaways:
- You'll notice there is only ONE kid from Texas (Keisean Henderson) who is [projected] at 6.1.
- Over the previous five years, there was an average of 6.6 super blue chip (6.1 ★★★★★) recruits from Texas.
- Also, there's now a two-year trend of less than 10 kids ranked 6.0 or higher from the state of Texas. 2026 will have HALF of the blue chip recruits that 2021 had. (7 recruits from 14 recruits, respectively.)
Is 2026 an outlier, or is it a harbinger of the rest of the country catching up to Texas with young talent? We shall see.
