This weeks interesting games 10/23

Me too. Especially since they are headed to the Big 12. Maybe the powers that be won't miss UT and OU.
Obviously TX won't be in the playoffs this year. But if Cincy is and wins at least 1 game I'm going to 😅

Ghidorah the 3 headed monster will be slain and none of them will be in the playoffs Clemson is already out and soon tOSU and AL will be out as well. This can be a great year for college fb.

If next week somebody posts "interesting Non Texas games" thread, we have a big game in SMU at Houston. If SMU is victorious, we shall have an even more interesting match up on November 20 when SMU travels to Cinci. I got a chance to watch SMU a little, but from what I saw there defense plays pretty physical.
There will be a LOT of big games this week. @LonghornMM this week you must bring out the betting lines asap.

The line for SMU/UH is: UH -1 and the total is 62 1/2. I'll take SMU to cover.

SMU is at Cincinnati on 11/20. I think that Cincy takes that game and ends up undefeated.

Some other lines I want to know about

MS/Auburn
FL/GA

A few weeks ago I thought this weekend was going to separate from the contenders in the Big X. Not so much now. Nevertheless what's the line on

PS/tOSU
MSU/MI without question biggest game of the week

and of course
TX/Baylor

appreciate what you do

MS/Auburn Auburn -2 1/2 (I like Auburn)
FL/GA Georgia -14 (I think Georgia rolls them)

PS/tOSU OSU -18 1/2 (OSU seems to be getting it together. PSU going the wrong direction)
MSU/MI without question biggest game of the week Michigan -4 1/2 (I like MSU to upset Michigan)

and of course
TX/Baylor Baylor -2 1/2 (Gotta go with Baylor here)

appreciate what you do

BU/Texas over under = 61. Take the under. The Baylor offense is vanilla. The defense is salty. Make no mistake - this is the biggest game of the year for the Bears. 2 weeks to prepare, the alums want blood due to the pending split off from the Big 12 by UT and OU, and if you check the standings, we are playing for a spot in the Big 12 championship game.

I am pretty frustrated with our defense for one main reason. There seems to be no urgency in changing anything up and adapting. At least Flood is dealing with the urgency in our O-Line issues. He is moving guys around and trying to improve the situation.

I hate to sound negative, but I just don't see Texas beating Baylor this weekend. I'll be very surprised is the Horns somehow win this game.

It sucks, but nothing wrong with being objective.

I think the culture inside Texas football is bad. Something is rotten. Maybe the incident with Jake Ehlinger is a peek into the window of Texas culture. This team does not want to win. I don't think we do all that well at football in the SEC for some time.

There really isn't anything he can do. Apparently our incoming freshman aren't ready to play. I hope Jaylin Ford gets more snaps than Brockermeyer. Judging by some of his metrics he's played well so far.

Slow down a little bit. Our kids want to win desperately. There is a toxic culture with TX fb 10 years in the making. The longer it lasts the more it affects our players. And I've said many times on here numerous hc's, ad's and potus over the last 10 years. To many hands on alums. And it appears that Hartzell and Del Conte are not going to draw boundaries. Imo I think they like it.

Sarkisian has to really work hard on their metal state. Maybe the 2 off weeks will help. All any of us can do is watch and hope.

I believe there is always something you can do. I don't believe that it is a 100% personnel issue. All we have done is 3DL, 2LB and an edge here and there.

That's a ridiculous statement. They lose a couple of close games and now it's they don't want to win games. We lost those games because we aren't very talented in the trenches and that's showing up in the second half of games. It's not because they don't want to win.

I posted awhile back that Sarkisian said whoever practices the hardest is the one who plays. But how many tackles does Brockemeyer have to miss before Ford finally becomes gets more playing time?

Our ol consists of three fifth year seniors TWO 6th year seniors and a 4th year junior. You've seen them play any questions?

Some of our heralded freshman guys like Ishmael Ibraheem are not ready. It is what is another disappointing senator class.

In addition after the KSU game the TX players sang TX fight with tears in their eyes.

I may be in the minority in my view, but it is simply what I believe. No harm in disagreeing. Coaching is a big part of it. I can't buy that Texas' 4*s are inferior to Gundy's 3* or ou's 4* or whoever. These 4*s need to be coached up and worked by whatever methods necessary. They are the coaches with all of the access and knowledge to figure it out-unlike us on this sports forum.

Toughness and conditioning lost the last two games, not talent or schemes.

KSU game? You mean OSU, right?
Actually both games. The KSU game is the one where Kerstetter completely shattered his ankle and had to be carried off. Even though they took him to the hospital he made it back to the locker room before the game ended. And sitting in a wheel chair he led the team in singing.

True story

All I'm trying to do is try to tell everybody that these kids don't hate their school. They want to win more than any of us.

Man Saturday can't get here fast enough so we can talk about the game and not give our opinions about what the team should do 😃

If you can stand it, re-watch this memory. This is all coaching. Players out of position-no safety valve? 100% of them crash on the line of scrimmage? That is coaching. That kind of stuff is covered in practice and then as a "heads up" in the huddle before a big play. Texas should be sick of granting Heismans to blowu. I want to be clear, I definitely like Sark and I still like PK. However, PK can't trot our defense out there looking clueless anymore. I understand they won't be perfect or even a solid D, but they just can't be clueless.

I'm hope that I'm wrong, but I don't think Texas wins on Saturday.

missed tackle, the defensive player was there. If it was Rattler he would have been stuffed, Williams is 220 and can break arm tackles

We'll see. This team reminds me of the 2019 team with a lesser qb. Are we at the point of declaring the team a rebuild? After this season, we lose most of the secondary, kerstetter, overshown, our best DT, and that's just off the top of my head. Sark better hit the portal hard.

I always thought this year was going to be an 8-4 or 9-3 type of season. New QB and new systems on both sides of the ball. The only position that really worries me going into next season is the offensive line. I expect Sark to hit the transfer portal to try and fill the holes there.

Next years class is really heavy on the defensive side of the ball. Mainly the defensive line. That's going to be really important moving forward into the SEC. I'm disappointed with the season the way it has played out but I have seen some things that make sort of optimistic about the future. We arguably 2 of the most electrifying players in the country in Xavier Worthy and Bijan Robinson.

If Sark can get the offensive line worked out going into next year there's no reason we can't be successful.

This is who we are now.....

This was called and played well. Our guys just missed the tackle.

Texas currently reminds me of teams under Sumlin as far as recruiting. Sumlin had great classes but no identity. Great players but didn’t recruit to what you do. Jimbo has come in and said we are winning the trenches. He has done fantastic at o-line and d-line. Stacking running backs and controlling the clock and that is how he has recruited. It seems Texas doesn’t have an identity. They will have to have an identity in the SEC and really recruit in the trenches. Texas in my opinion needs to really focus on the trenches which will draw in running backs and linebackers that get to play with those groups because they make them better. Quarterbacks want to play behind great o lines. That’s no great thinking but maybe something that has been lost at Texas.
