Our SOCOM guys would use them as training dummies. I would hazard to guess we will mostly likely use SOCOM and ground branch, with air and drone strikes.

Remember that the “cartels” are just that. Cartels; as in plural. It’s not one organization, or conglomerate of organizations, with single like-minded goal(s). They’re competitors. They fvcking hate each other (I can’t really stress that enough). They will turn on each other if they see the slightest possible benefit. We know who the kingpins are of every cartel organization and can take them out in a heartbeat. They know it too. If they try some dumb shit on us militarily, they're dead. It wouldn't surprise me if the were able to get their hands on Chinese military equipment as well. You’re giving the cartels too much credit. They aren’t freedom fighters, patriots, or religious fanatics. They’re criminals. There are extreme differences in those mindsets.

They aren’t going to be rolling armor. They aren’t going to have air support. They aren’t going to have artillery. They aren’t going to have QRFs. The technological gap will be very similar to Afghanistan and Vietnam, but the big difference is that those belligerents were fighting for an ideal.

And a commercially available drone isn’t even close to the same thing as a predator, or a JDAM coming of an F-15/16/18, and an AC-130. I just have a hard time seeing us putting Spectre gunships over Mexican airspace. That's a fvck ton of noise. And it's not like those things aren't messy.
I also don't see hellfires coming off Predator drone rails. Watching folks is one thing- targeting them with a hellfire in downtown Oaxaca- that's gonna piss people off.

Had a long chat today with a buddy of mine who is former AF guy that used to support Fresh's guys.
Back in the Taliban days- the government put a bounty out on the top 25 or so terrorists in the network.
