Urban Meyer said no thanks?

There's a place just south of San Antonio that buys them alive 15-20 cents/lb. I don't have a trailer set up for feral hogs but I do plan on it.
You would need 4 128lb hogs at .20 a lb. to make $100. Then transport cost etc.. Have to be a pretty serious hobby but with a few guys and feed plots could make some money. And you have to get them from the plot/ kill area to the truck/ trailer.. Friends have 2 hunting plantations in south Georgia and they are all over the place down there...

If he has said no. It is quite likely he doesn’t coach again unless the NFL lures him
Just no longer respect Tom and he has worn out his welcome at UT in my view.. The buyout with Meyer on board is one thing.. The buyout with what else is perceived to be available is another.. It was a huge error to give Tom the extension. We'll see what happens.. But to much has gone wrong for to long at UT and I honestly feel that pruning needs to occur in several areas for the University to be what it can be. Because to much that in truth is detrimental to our kids is happening there and sadly UT is not the only University where that is the case...!!

They will be worth $$$ dead soon enough. Especially the sub 100lb pigs. Food scarcity is real. It's not hit the US hard, yet. It's coming.

Even know none of the other people out there are aren’t slam dunk hires the way Urban was I do think they would all be upgrades over Herman

This is likely going to play out like the Shaka situation. Shaka is not great but he has a senior laden team and they will be good this year. Next year, prolly not. He likely is not extended. The same will probably happen with Herman. No one wants to drop the cash to buy him out unless it's for UM so we will be stuck with him.

Heres the interesting thing for both Texas and Urban Meyer. They can revisit it next year. The fact is the landscape of college football is likely to be roughly the same. If Texas wants Urban and Urban wants Texas it will be on the table this time next year as well

Herman? Or Longneck? Or both?
Herman.. Ketch says he does what he does without understanding why. At this stage of his life he should have better creative intelligence and the capacity to understand the how's and whys that need to happen in order to achieve what he wants.. And often in both his personal life and in games you can clearly see that he doesn't understand the how's or whys and how they need to be adapted as his life and games unravel on him..

Exactly, they need to take away his headset. He is a riverboat gambler at heart.

Not looking good for luring Urban. Not sure I'm too excited about the other alleged possible alternatives.

Ok, I will play. Diagram what would have to happen for the Aggies to make the playoffs.
Notre Dame bear Clemson again
Ohio State slip up

not exactly Crazy that one of those things happen. I think it’s kind of a joke that Ohio State is going to be on playing 5 games

Oh there's definitely no shortage of piggies on my place, unfortunately. I got tired of messing with them.

True enough. I guess what I m saying is one of those things could happen (most would agree neither would) and the committee would still leave a&m out...and chalk it up to the old eye ball test.

I’d say Clemson is the favorite to beat ND, but I don’t think anyone would be shocked if ND won. and no way they would put Clemson in with 2 losses over A&M

Here is the nightmare scernio for the committee.

Clemson beats ND
Florida beats Bama
Ohio states win the big 10

if that happens I think Ohio States lack of games has to come in to play.

24/7 sounds pretty firm on it. Urban “out” as Coach at Tx
Yeah it sounds like he just isn’t really interested in risking his health to coach. Which I’ve kinda suspected from the get go. I don’t think it has anything to do with Texas.

Brown reports that Meyer has told Texas that he’s leaning towards not coaching again, citing health reasons. Texas was interested in Penn State’s James Franklin and Oregon’s Mario Cristobal.

@clob94
One interesting thing to point out.... just because it might not happen for the 2021 season doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen after the 2021 season..Both sides could always revisit things it’s not like Urban is taking another job. And none of the other jobs he would be open to taking minus maybe USC will probably be open in the next couple years

Here are a few notes of interest on Toms tenure at Texas..
51 ESPN 300 Recruits (5th Most in FBS)
12 Losses as an AP Ranked Team (Tied For 3rd Most In FBS)
3 Wins as Underdog VS AP Top 10 Opp (Tied For 3RD Most In FBS)
3 Bowl Wins
0 Conference Titles I Conference Title Game Appearance
0 Playoff Appearances (Never Ranked Higher than 13th or 14th Not 100% positive on this)

Read #1 again - 51 ESPN 300 Recruits and then reread the results.. And look at how current recruits view Tom and Texas. Texas has the talent to do much more than Tom is achieving with this team...

Well are we looked at as the laughing stock now? And Herby the commentator sure did have some words a couple of days ago about this coaching situation. The guy sure knows how to get under someone's skin.

Well looks like Tech is looking into replacing their coach with guess who? Art Briles....looking like boosters are throwing out his name.

Honestly, I'd be okay with cutting lose Herman and just letting Ash take over for next year or two. He was a failure at Rutgers, but they are a suck fest and it would allow us to save the scratch for the next great coach. I actually like our assistants, just not Herman and Hand.

Plug Nancy, ha! Yeah, bidness in the patch is very tight. I've been staying in Ruidoso to work near a town ironically enough, called Corona.

Helping hogs social distance via Air Bacon sounds like a blast. A good buddy of mine did that through the SOWW charity. I've all but given up trying to control our local hogs. Any given night we can drop 10-15 using .300blk subsonic with a can. Still haven't found a good way to dampen the cycling sound of an ar.
Holy crap dude. Ive driven through Corona before. There's literally nothing there. When I was in HS we did the Billy the kid tour there in Lincoln County. He allegedly made a stop near corona to hold up for the night. I also learned that the cop that found the "UFO" crash in Roswell first stopped at Corona to call it in.

On a different note-- at some point you probably had a few PRC-117 conversations with some of the boys out of Hollomon. I have a buddy staying at a TDY crash pad there that said they are running a special on KC steaks at the BX right now. You should run by and grab some beef.

See thats why I wouldn’t of went down this road at all if I was Texas. Because if he didn’t come(and I thought the chances were slim) the narrative was going to be framed “Texas failed to get Urban Meyer”. Well it’s not as if you lost him go another school. He simply doesn’t want to, or doesn’t think he can coach. Due to his health. If that’s the case nothing Texas could do about it.

Great data points. Puts things in perspective. As I’ve previously opined, we’re the Dallas Cowboys of the NCAA. Annually underperforming relative to the talent.

Apathy level consistently rises with each passing day of this debacle. I get going all in on UM, woulda been a game changer for our program. (Pun intended) However, the ramifications are going to be very difficult to overcome now that it appears he isn’t coming. Recruiting is $h!t already and now we have a lame duck Coach if we retain him. Sure, we’ll save money but at what cost? (Yes, another lame attempt at a pun) If we truly believe our performance won’t achieve to the level of talent we have based on the recruits he’s garnered thus far, what is making him a lame duck gonna do? Am I way off base here?

Are we underperforming? I’m not sure. I would like to see the number of recruits that are upper classmen, that we have retained (have not transferred), & that are making meaningful contributions on the field. Also, I would like to see if we are filling our positions of need each year versus going after 4 star “athletes” that don’t really have a football position.
