It doesn't require an outside search committee to find and hire a coach. Everyone knows the best names. Go after them!
Just wanted to point out the obvious. Self made Billionaires are not stupid men, they got there by usually being the smartest guys in the room.
I hope next time we listen to the Smart guys that back this program.
If we're going to do a football search might want to get a real AD. Perrin is a nice guy I'm sure, loves the university and a successful man in his field. Not really suited for his job now though. If we're going to do a football search need an AD who has been there

Stop,Perrin played LB under DKR,I think he knows what he is looking at in this situation.I doubt he has missed many games since he played and far removed from Patterson.
Has absolutely nothing to do with being an AD and running an organized efficient coaching search. I'm not questioning his football acumen or weather he knows what qualities to,look for in a great coach.
I'm results oriented and less about "how did we achieve them." If Perrin can get us the right coach, go for it.
Yes but often times when your coaching search becomes a circus you don't end up with the right guy
I really hope Perrin doesn't handle Charlie's replacement like the way he handled the search for Augie's replacement.
So where are we now? Charlie plays out the string. Apparently coaching both the defense and the special teams. No one to help gilbert fix our second half problems.
Options:
Bring in Greg Robinson as a consultant. ( not sure of the way alabama gets around these positions)?
Count on Charlie to right the ship?
Ask Mattox to take over Special teams duty as well as oline?
Currently Jeff Traylor is listed as the special teams coach but i believe it is name only.
It's a mess. I see only one sure win left on the schedule. Against Kansas.

Luck would have the job if he had the balls to fire head coaches. His insistence that the Brown and Barnes triggers be pulled by someone else before his arrival shows his true colors.
