STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s 2026 football recruiting efforts got off to a strong start.
Jaylen Stewart, a heavily pursued edge rusher from Pearland, Texas, became the first player to commit to the Cowboys in the 2026 class on Thursday night.
Stewart is a three-star prospect who also had offers from Utah, SMU, USC, Auburn, Pittsburgh, Arizona, Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas and others.

The 6-foot-1, 230-pound Stewart had 52 tackles with 10 sacks as a junior this past season, aligning as a standup rusher and a traditional defensive end. His skillset looks like an ideal fit for the outside linebacker position OSU added to the roster with the arrival of new defensive coordinator Todd Grantham.

Stewart is rated as the No. 65 prospect in Texas and the No. 39 edge rusher in the country by 247Sports.com.
