Tuesday (11 a.m.) - With the events from yesterday that we were dealing with, I'm getting to the analysis of West Mesquite wide receiver Dylan Wright's commitment to A&M a little late.
Nevertheless, it's a monster pick-up for the Aggies because it gives them a big head to head win over the Longhorns, who were once Wright's clear leader.
For the Longhorns, the loss stings because Wright is one of about five players ranked as state top 20 prospects that remain uncommitted and as the No.10 player in the current LSR 100, he represented one of two available prospects that the Longhorns have the ability to pull in.
This state's available uncommitted top talent is pretty small at this point, with the list looking like:
No.8 - DB Lewis Cine
No.14 - DE Marcus Stripling
No.18 - WR Jalen Curry
No.19 - DB jalen Catalon
No.26 - Elijah Higgins.
That's it.
Of course, the Longhorns are loaded at the wide receiver position, both with talent on campus and with the talent in this recruiting class. Still, Wright is a player Texas needed to land and it didn't, further highlighting the need for an increased recruiting presence in the Metroplex, an area where the Longhorns don't have a single commitment from in the 2019 class.
