When your coach sux so bad that you look at Sarkisian

Well Boise State is open and it's looking like they are trying to go after Kellen Moore the offensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.

As a Cowboys fan I have to say Kellen Moor would be a great hire for them. In just 2 years now he has really shown a lot of promise as an offensive coordinator.

Yeah I’m not a cowboy fan but I think Moore has a bright future as coach. He will be a big time college or NFL coach. Hope he takes his time and is selective in jobs he takes

ND plays boring football and isn't any better than we are.
ND may play boring football but they have been to the national championship game or the playoffs 4 times since 2010... they are better than we are. That’s not even really debatable

Glad Sark has his demons under control. But..... I don't understand why everyone is so impressed with what he has done at Alabama the last 2 years. Who couldn't coach these guys?
Jeudy 1st rounder 2020
Ruggs 1st rounder 2020
Tua 1st rounder 2020
Willis 1st rounder 2020

2021 possible 1st rounders
Alex Leatherwood
Naji Harris
Jaylon Waddle
Devonta Smith
Duente Brown
Mack Jones

Any fool could coach these guys. Sark is a good coordinator, but he won't have this talent anywhere else. It is ridiculous & they have plenty of other NFL guys who won't go in the first round. Oh, and the guys listed above are all offensive players.

Now go down the list of QBs Sark has developed in the last 15-20 years.

I'll make easy on you, Keith Price at UW is the only one to not be drafted.

I don't understand this thought process...

No, not every coach can coach these guys to the level they've been at the past two seasons.

People have said the same thing about every coach when they lose draft picks. Maybe SS sucks at Texas, but that doesn't mean he didn't coach the Alabama kids up.

I'm not concerned about Sark the coach, from a X and O perspective this was a quality hire. I'm concerned about the pressure of coaching the University of Texas along with the temptations of Austin will have on a guy who struggles with substance abuse problems.

How do you say no to having a drink with a Billionaire booster? Austin is a place that can tear you down little by little. That is my big concern.

If a billionaire booster offers a recovering alcoholic a chance to have a "drink" then said billionaire booster is a POS ass hat. And doesn't really care about winning football games.

Hell, if he wins I will buy him a couple of cases of Shiner! You worry too much about the maybes and ifs....LOL one day at a time Son...he's not even on Campus yet...

Imagine how awesome Sark would be on 6th street. Talk about naked bongo playing, he would put drunk Matthew Mcconaugheyto shame.
I was just going to mention this, probably best to keep bongo boy at an arms length distance from Sark lest he be tempted

What is the correlation between getting a new coach and Sam's coming back?

Is Sam more likely to come back if Herman stays the HC after a couple weeks?
Sam bleeds burnt orange. At this point in his career he would have to seriously think about what is best for him as well.

He has 3 choices
Stay
Leave
Transfer

Depending on his goals, he ought to consider al 3.

If he wants to play in the NFL, then staying another year with Herman may not do him a lot of good unless Yurcich has a concrete plan for him that he believes in.

I feel Sam really wants to come back and is looking for a good (for him and UT) reason to.
During your bowl game the announcers made it seem like the coaches had to talk Thompson off the transfer portal ledge and they insinuated that Herman assured him Sam was moving on so Thompson would stay?

Wouldn't doubt it. I liked everything about Sam and wish him the best. Wasn't the best qb out there but he damn sure gave it his all.

In other news, 6th St bars are excited to hear about our replacement HC. We're baaaaaaack...........

Sober is one thing. Still smoking hippie lettuce is another.
A little hippie lettuce never hurt anybody. Know tons of extremely successful people that have smoked the shit every day of their life. Would I encourage it, no. But that’s the least of my worries.

I agree, but I wouldn’t hire him because he has a decent body of work for which to evaluate at Washington and USC. Neither is impressive, just average. I think anybody that works under Saban is assumed to now understand his system. Saban basically revived Kiffin’s career. Talk about a worthless recycled coach, that is Kiffin.

Not impressive? Just average?

Washington went 0-12 before hiring Sarkisian. Here’s how the following years went...

5 wins
7 wins
7 wins
9 wins

I’m not completely sold on the guy, but that’s pretty f*cking impressive.

Ease up, Bubba. The wind changed directions and now I am on the Sark train. That post is two weeks old which is at least a year on “OB” time. 🙂
