Wondered about the current state of "global warming" science and how "settled" it still is. Anyone truly up on the whole thing? Would like some feedback on this recent article:

My issue all along has been the "boy who cried wolf" phenomenon. The first Earth Day was the year of my birth, 1970. The asinine predictions of calamity and human death tolls haven't really changed all that much over the years. What has changed is what would cause them. Just off the top of my head: "new ice age", "ozone depletion", "acid rain", "starvation from over-population", and now "global warming/climate change". I am sure there are more. I am all about avoiding catastrophe - who isn't? However, the fire alarm has been pulled so often now that everyone pretty much ignores it.
Lastly, if we are being honest, isn't global warming a net good thing? I mean rising oceans suck for those living on the coasts, but it isn't going rise overnight. Higher CO2 and temps should equal better crop production which is good, right? At the end of the day, the globe has been warming without us for millennia and we have been doing just fine from that perspective - better in fact.
