Whether it is today's NBA or this century's NBA, I feel like he would just be a rim protector. He would be a DeAndre Jordan or a Dwight Howard. Russell couldn't shoot. He's career 44% from the field which is atrocious for a big man. He was 55% from FT which is about the same as Jordan or Howard. Was he good at the pick and roll? I dont now.
Can he rebound and defend down low? Of course he can. Could he defend today's elite center like Embiid or Jokic? Probably not because those players are stretch 5s, can shoot, pass and Russell wasn't a perimeter defender.
