Michigan Update: Hearing both DTs are “actively in play”!

Again, coming from a pretty good source. The rumor is both Graham and Grant are looking to some degree. All I have for now but Sark should try to get one of them for sure.

I ended up having 2 good sources on the Harbaugh move. One from the Michigan side and the other from the Chargers. The news on the DTs is from a different one that I know is fairly connected. We’ll see if they hit the portal.

Don’t Start Threads that can be Traced Back to You

After two decades on this site, this is my NUMBER ONE RULE. Don’t do it.

If your making a claim, a statement, a posturing, a rule of thumb, an observation, if your staking a position, if you’re drunk, sober, high, scintillating smart or stunningly stupid, post it in someone else’s thread.

Because it is stupefyingly easy to make you answer for a stupid thread you create, and a pointlessly impossible effort to try and dig up your brain fart if it’s buried in either a game thread or even someone else’s stupid brain fart thread that you happen to wade into.

But. But. But. (Because everything is better in threes. Including buts). Rules are made to be violated, if those ways cannot be deemed violent or unpleasant. So. At the moment I am I’m drunk. A good hard food drunk on an excessive quantity of absurdly pleasing sushi along with a mild and very pleasant buzz associated with the accompanying saki I consumed as an important digestive.

Consequently, I am feeling my oats, as they say. Which just now for the first time in my life strikes me as one of the most bizarre things a person can say. I have no oats. I eat them. I do not possess them.

But I’m feeling that which I do not possess. In this case, oats. And wherever they are, I have both hands wrapped firmly around them.

And so I am going on record … and I don’t give two twats what any of you yahoos think, or bookmark, or hope to regurgitate in a poisonously spiteful future bump … I am here to say:

Sark killed it with the hire of Kenny Baker. Sark is a mage. He’s a rainmaker. He sees the future. And he knows that Baker is going to be extraordinary at Texas. As he has apparently been every stop he has taken.

On down the road, when he is a coordinator, then a head coach, when he is a familiar name that every internet board full of sports nerds who think they are smarter than the average bear covets for his services, you will be able to find me right here. Saying Yes! I’m an old fart, and am lucky if I can wake up in the morning and can remember how to operate a fork. But I called Kenny Baker’s success just 12 hours after Sark recognized his potential.

Every freshman who enters UT isn’t shit. What UT is great at is burping out extraordinary leaders, artists, chemists, theorists, philosophers, athletes and dreamers when they leave.

And speaking of dreamers, I’m going to bed. See you yahoos tomorrow.

Laid off AGAIN within 6 months - Biz Dev Professional

- It's been a rough 6 months in tech. Former company cut a lot of us back in June.
- Found a role with a start up in Austin that wanted to reposition itself in the market. This AM I was informed the CEO is shutting down the division he hired me to build out so won't be renewing my contract.

I'm a career business development professional who has been successful as an IC and leader across several vertical with 15+ years experience and a strong background in AdTech and Technology sales. Thought I'd reach out to my OB brothers and see if anyone had a lead or opportunity. I learn and adapt quickly so would be open to moving into a new vertical. Appreciate the consideration and help!

I HATE Shoplifters

Went to HEB a little earlier. Was walking in the fron doors by check out and they usually have carts just outside the front door but, didnt tonight because it was raining. So, I walked through the store to the other doors (more isolated away from checkout) near the floral department to get a cart and right before I got to the door, this little Columbian dude walked by me casually carrying an 18-pack of Modelo and a hand basket of about $300 in Prime Filets and other meat. He was loaded up and was clearly trying to sneak out the isolated door where not many people were.

I walked past him and stepped in front of him right as he got through the first door and before he got to the outer door and said, "hey man did you buy that meat and beer?" He was like "sorry no english." I pointed at the massive amount of meat and pointed at him and made the cash money sign with my fingers and asked again if he paid for that. He said "yes I pay." I then asked to see his receipt and made a gesture trying to resemble a receipt. He looked at me and then set the beer and meat down and took off running out the door smack into into an HEB cart dude and fell down. I said "that dude just tried to steal this stuff" *pointing to the meat* The guy jumped up and took off running again and the HEB dude was like "Uh. What do we do." I said, "maybe pick up the meat and beer and take it to your Manager?"

If I would have thought fast enough, I would have taken a picture of him as I started to talk to him. FVCKING THIEVES. Tired of the bullshit.

This is why infants should never sleep in the bed with you.

Just got a call from my daughter in law. That her niece was dead. Apparently the mother rolled over on the infant in her sleep. Coroner is at the house along with police. A beautiful 2 1/2 month old baby girl Is gone. She was so precious. My hands are shaken and I'm crying because she was at my house Friday. And her smile would melt anybody. Right I just don't know what to do I'm spinning in circles. Trying to get my head straight. Please send prayers. Thanks

College football viewership numbers

Found these numbers interesting. Originally shared from the researcher by Scipio at IT.

18 teams created half of all the viewership of college football. The bottom 71 teams generated less than 10% viewership.

Aggie not one of the 18. Cue a protest.

16 SEC and B1G schools (counting TEXAS and land thieves as SEC USC UDub and Ducks as B1G) and 2 ACC programs, ND and FSU.

Another major step as the gap between the haves and have nots widens. Supports the notion of a 48-64 team Super League.

Dude who did the research, biz degree from USC MBA from Wharton.

Saw Luntz on CNBC this morning. He thinks the only way Trump loses at this point is if Biden drops out

Nothing groundbreaking about that as I think most polls show Trump beating Biden fairly easily.

Of course, Biden had another dementia moment yesterday at some campaign event. It's kind of astonishing to me that the leaders in the party don't see what's so obvious to everyone else.

You could make the case had the media not attacked DeSantis so relentlessly, he would have beaten Trump, but the media wanted Trump and that's who they're getting.

Longhorns add commitment from Rivals250 DE Lance Jackson

The Texas Longhorns picked up one commitment from their junior day on Saturday night and on Sunday afternoon they added another.

Texarkana Pleasant Grove 2025 defensive end Lance Jackson, who attended UT’s junior day, announced moments ago that he has given Texas a commitment. Jackson joins 2026 running back Raycine Guillory, who announced his Texas commitment on Saturday night.

For Jackson, it’s been a bit of a long time coming to commit to Texas. He had an idea coming into this weekend’s visit that he might go ahead and commit, and he said he knew it was time once he got around the UT coaches on Saturday.

“It feels good to be able to end my recruitment and be comfortable with it,” Jackson said. “I knew I wanted to be in Austin ever since I’ve gone up there. I love (Pete Kwiatkowski) as a person and the type of coach he is.”

A Rivals250 member, Jackson chose Texas over a long list of offers that included scholarships from programs like Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas A&M, among others.

Jackson, who can play as both a tight end and defensive end, is being recruited by the Longhorns to play defense. He spent most of his time on Saturday with Kwiatkowski and then had a phone conversation with Steve Sarkisian on Saturday evening to lock in his commitment.

“Coach PK is the person I talked to the whole time. He was with me most of the beginning of the day until the end,” Jackson said. “He’s come to my school probably five times. There were a bunch of recruits there, so I got on the phone with coach Sark last night and he’s coming by the school this week.”

At 6-5 and 230 pounds, Jackson possesses a rare combination of size and athleticism, and it’s those exact traits that had so many colleges chasing his commitment. The message from the Texas coaches has been clear and direct, and it paid off on Sunday.

“Really (PK) just says to come play for a winning team. Also, they’re going to the SEC so that’s a big thing too,” Jackson said. “He tells me he wants me to play with my hand in the dirt at D-end.”

Jackson had previously visited Texas for games and for a camp but said he got a much better view of the program on Saturday’s visit. The depth of that experience, combined with his relationship with the UT staff, was enough to seal the deal with Texas.

“It was nice because I got to see everything more. I’ve only been up for a game and camp, so I got to see everything, see the weight room and all that stuff,” Jackson said.

Jackson is ranked as a four-star prospect and checks in at No. 118 on the Rivals250. He becomes the Longhorns’ fifth commitment of the 2025 class, joining Anthony Williams, Brandon Brown, Emaree Winston and KJ Lacey. Jackson is the younger brother of current Arkansas Razorback defensive end Landon Jackson.
