4-star Kaliq Lockett talks interests in Texas and upcoming visits

Kaliq Lockett 1.jpg

Four-star wideout Kaliq Lockett participated in the Under Armour Next camp on Sunday in Houston. The wide receiver from Sachse (TX) has multiple offers across the country at the moment, with one of those being Texas.

Orangebloods.com caught up with the 75th-ranked player in the nation and asked how a school can separate itself from the pack.

“Definitely a family feel,” Lockett said. “Whoever accepts me in as soon as I walk in the door because it’s going to be hard to leave my family whenever I go out to college.”

Lockett has official visits lined up with both Texas (June 21) and USC (June 7).

It is no surprise just how talented Lockett is at his age, and when asked how he sees himself fitting into head coach Steve Sarkisian’s offensive scheme, he mentioned that his versatility could fit in well with the UT offense.

“They moved the receivers around a whole bunch. When you look at how Adonai Mitchell played, Jordan Whittington, Xavier Worthy, they didn’t all play in one position,” Lockett said. “They all moved around in different spots, and they all got on the ball in different ways

Lockett also said he has a good relationship with Sarkisian and wide receivers coach Chris Jackson.

“I talk to coach Jackson every week or every other week, so me and him always have a good relationship,” Lockett said.

Lockett has been invited to participate in the All-American Bowl Game (January 11), however, has yet to commit to the Under Armour All-American Bowl or All-American Bowl but it will be very interesting to see how the young star’s story unfolds.

OT: UPS Tracking/Shipping Issues

Has anyone else noticed that tracking and shipping times have gotten considerably worse over the last few months? It’s just so unreliable these days. Packages typically arrive at least a few days late and there’s almost never up to date tracking info available. Most packages just end up in a “Label Created” status for several days.

I'm out on Rodney Terry now

I'm watching this game...we are up by 10...hooray.

Texas is doing so many things poorly.

We take a shot via 1v1. Nobody crashes the boards...nobody. 4 other guys stand and watch 1 other dude shoot.

I see missed tons of missed blockouts.

I see bad decisions.

I see zero plays to free up Max Abmas

I see guys being lazy & not playing fundamental basketball.

This all goes back to coaching.

Doesn't matter if Disu & the team is cold from the field. When I see sh!t play on the court, I'm calling it out.

Is RT jumping anyone's ass on the sideline? I can't tell.

And yes, just like that I'm out on RT.

Instant Game Analysis: Defense leads the Longhorns into Round of 32

GJPGu61WkAALf-B

Cliffs Notes: The Longhorns played some of the best defense its played all season in advancing to the Round of 32 in the NCAA Tournament with a 56-44 win over a veteran Colorado State squad.

The Participants: No.7 Texas (20-12 and No.10 Colorado State (25-10)

Pre-Game KenPom Rankings: Texas (No. 29) and Colorado State (No.28)

Game MVP: Chendall Weaver came off the bench to score 11 points on 5 of 7 shooting, while providing constant energy and defense. The stat line might not show it, but he's the easy selection for MVP honors.

Let's Talk Defense: The Longhorns forced 19 turnovers and held Colorado State to 29.8% shooting from the floor and 25.0% from downtown. It's hard to win games in the Tournament like that.

Key Stretch: In the final 15:13 of the half, the Longhorns went on an amazing 25-3 run to close out the lead to give it a 27-11 lead at halftime. CSU shot 18.5% from the floor, 10% from downtown and didn't attempt a single free throw in the first half. CSU's 11 first-half points were the fewest by any team in the first half of an NCAA Tournament game since 2008.

Impossible to Believe: There's no way I would have believed the Longhorns capable of winning this game with poor games from both Dylan Disu (5 of 18 from the floor) and Max Abmas (5 of 15 from the floor), but the Longhorns somehow advances with the two combining to shoot 10 of 33 from the floor.

Slow start: After taking a 2-0 lead to start the game less than a minute into the game, the Longhorns didn't score again all the way through the first TV timeout, falling behind 8-2 and starting the game 1 of 8 from the field. As described above, things changed dramatically from this moment on in the first half.

Chasing History: Abmas sits in 8th place on the all-time list and entered the game trailing former Creighton star Doug McDermott (3,150 points) by 39 points for 7th place. After scoring 12 points on Thursdayday night, he is now 27 points behind McDermott.

America! Where we will lower the bar for you.

Bar exam? We will lower the score for you . Wait we will just eliminate it. Law school? Overrated. Take some standardized process and train under someone. Maybe this guy. He practiced law for 25 years before moving to congress.

Biden's economy

need some help from an economic sleuth or policy expert

i am being told, relative to the general employment reports

  • that the last 11 of 13 quarterly employment reports have all been subsequently lowered by the administration from their original release (if true the are consistently lying to get a bounce from the news)
  • in speaking about employment..part time people count
  • illegal aliens count as an FTE but are not included in the denominator of U. S. citizens for reporting purposes
  • the Biden administration just lowered the work week to 32 hours to calculate a higher employment #
  • the labor participation rate is being manipulated ( increased) to simply redefine how citizens are defined and considered looking for employment ( not a new issue Obama did this frequently , i dont know about Trump)
  • the United States is still under 1 million jobs that existed pre-pandemic

i don't have time to research these so hoping someone can shed light on. Thanks

if any of these are true it is a serious breach of trust by a government shown it will do anything to support a corrupt facade

Fertilizing Garden with “Human Manure”

Ok bro so I have been scoring with this granola chick who is hot like at least a 7.5. Doesn’t have BO or body hair and smells great. Totally into PIIHB. Lip piercing and a full neck tattoo—I know that ain’t for errbody butt whatevs.

PSA if you are not carrying, both firearm and knife - remember knife you can carry many places you cannot take a firearm, along with getting in shape and training yourself in self-defense along with how to use higher-force weapons and how to retain them if attacked you need to start immediately.

If you have children the same applies, your spouse too.

GTFO out of big cities.

A few years back the FBI stat was that you had a 70% chance of incurring a violent encounter over your life. I can only imagine it has recently risen.

You can either be a victim or be prepared.

It's only going to get worse under this current administration - they don't give a fcuk about the border, law & order, or your life.

Earl Campbell at UT's Pro Day!

When he shows up, royalty abounds! Sark has really embraced our former Longhorns. We are a family again. I also liked seeing all the young guys out there supporting their teammates. In three to four years, they will be auditioning for a pro team. We may be headed into another decade of absolute excellence. Let's win a few Chips! In Sark, I trust.

Michael Huff to buy WBB tickets for students

Said he will buy any student a ticket to Friday's 2pm first round NCAA playoff game. He's a champ! Below from Statesman.

If Texas students want to root for the Longhorns in the NCAA women's basketball tournament, former UT football star Michael Huff will pick up the tab.

On Thursday, Huff offered to pay for Texas students to attend the Longhorns' first-round game. A No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2004, Texas (30-4) hosts Drexel (19-14) at Moody Center at 2 p.m. on Friday.

Student tickets are being sold for $10 apiece. In order to claim a ticket, students need to bring their Texas ID to the southwest ticket office at Moody Center on Friday afternoon.

If Texas wins and advances to the second round, Huff said he'll pay for student tickets again on Sunday, too.

"Huff, he's always been great, been a big supporter of our program and I just appreciate him so much," said Texas coach Vic Schaefer, who also has offered to buy up to 100 student tickets.

Huff was a standout defensive back on the Texas football team that won the 2005 national championship. He now works as an assistant director of player development with the UT football program.
