So everybody is paying him? Those kids have visited a lot of schools, some multiple times. I assume it is some kind of bagman and not the schools/coaches, if you are right about the payments. Pretty smart, not like another school will turn him in, when they got a visit too.He gets paid each time he delivers blue chips on visits. He’s been milking Javonne Shepherd’s recruitment on all 4 tits as a result. Same will happen with D.Demas.
There’s a reason he parades his big recruits to SEC schoolsSo everybody is paying him? Those kids have visited a lot of schools, some multiple times. Does tutoring work? My oldest daughter was a National Merit finalist. She got free tuition at UT until she managed to drop her GPA after 2 years. They get a free ride at OU and UTDallas, that's how OU tries to apppear academic.I wonder how this works? I assume if he directs a big time recruit to a school, then the coach owes him a favor. Kind of smart to make your money on the kids nobody really wants, keeping the blue chips clean, while still getting paid. FWK is smarter than I gave him credit for being, I bet this is perfectly legal. Funny seeing how the game actually works.
I am paying someone to help my kid get academic scholarship $, make a higher ACT score, help with essays & paperwork, etc... Seems like basically the same thing. Why do I feel like a sucker after reading this?
It has helped with her ACT scores for sure, but we have some time before we know if it actually pay$ off (she just turned 16). The smaller schools will give you a full ride with decent scores, but the big schools are not so generous. It looks like she can go where she wants if I pay for it, or some small time school if they pay for it. I have a feeling this will end up costing me more than if we had done nothing.Does tutoring work? My oldest daughter was a National Merit finalist. Grades have been inflated by the teachers at the parents' behest. Most common grade today is an A. It's like giving everybody money, now it's worthless. We still need to sort students, so standardized tests are all that's left. Unless you get some sort of ethnic preference. I have 2 friends, they were both PBK @ Rice. Their oldest boy was NM. They were told by Rice that there was only 1 spot his year for a white boy from the valley. He got it.It has helped with her ACT scores for sure, but we have some time before we know if it actually pay$ off (she just turned 16). One thing that seems sure to me is that ACT scores mean way more than grades. You can have a 4. whatever with AP classes, but it seems to all come down to ACT scores and demographics. I think being female might help a bit, or at least I hope so as my youngest is a girl too. We might have to pull an Elizabeth Warren.
We do not need unrealistic rumors intended purely to mess with the heads of horns fans and potentially impact perception of the program.Speculation that some big news for this recruiting class coming tomorrow. Lots of chatter that perhaps Bru may switch to Longhorns on HornsSports.
That would be nice.

What about Jake Smith? How is the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year not a 5 star?
I just noticed they gave Jordan a 5th star which was MUCH needed!Agreed! Dude is a beast. Still think he might turn out be even better than my hometown boy Whittington.
More often just the opposite, actually, especially at more selective colleges.
My understanding is that the only reason he's not is that he was injured during the all star game season and wasn't able to show out vs the other top kids. No matter. What about Jake Smith? How is the Gatorade National Football Player of the Year not a 5 star?
I've heard that if he's released from his LOI then yes it will count. If he has to transfer later then no. I also heard today that USC did release him from his LOI, so that's good news and should mean he doesn't have to sit out a year and he counts toward this class. We will seeVain question....
Will mccoy's transfer (if it happens) count towards recruiting ranks?
We were already at 5 as of this morning. We were at 8 before that. With the two kid’s recent bumps to 5-stars and the addition of McCoy, seems like the class could jump up a few spots huh?

Reminds me of the Tellus/Perriloux recruitment.
What the hell are you talking about?! This is no rumor this is confirmed the kid is enrolling in Austin first part of next week. Take your negative BS somewhere else!!We do not need unrealistic rumors intended purely to mess with the heads of horns fans and potentially impact perception of the program.

The aggys are losing their minds over Texas’ recruiting rankings. Loogie has even gone public with a conspiracy theory. We were already at 5 as of this morning. We were at 8 before that.
I don't know why it's so hard for aggies to understand that it's not whether they finish ahead of TX in recruiting rankings that matter. We don't even play each other anymore and they still can't understand that. What they should be asking themselves is do we have a good enough class to beat Alabama? But I gotta admit it's fun watching themselves complain about something so useless.

I noticed that. The 247’s ranking still show Owens as a 4*, even though they’ve run the story about him getting bumped to 5*
