Cliffs Notes: The Longhorns picked up an out of state prospect that Kyle Flood covets on Monday night when San Francisco (Ca.) St. Ignatius standout John ills gave the Longhorns a verbal commitment.

Evaluation: Flood loves large humans and that's exactly what Mills brings to the table in the form of a 6-6, 320-pound tackle package. His strength as a player right now comes with his ability to maul people in the running game. The young man has good feel and athleticism and the moment he gets his hands on an opposing defender... it is over. He's like a high school version of former Dallas Cowboys starter from the 1990s Kevin Gogan and I think he can profile as a similar type player at the next level as either a right tackle or an interior lineman. He displays the kind of footwork and knee-bend that gives you hope that he's going to be a tackle at the next level, which is where the Longhorns will start him.
Why it matters: We might be at the point with offensive line recruiting where we're waiting on Michael Fasusi and that's it, as Mills gives the Longhorns commitment No.4 along the offensive line. Unlike the other commitments, Mills feels like a tackle prospect and potentially the exact guy the staff wants to pair with Fasusi in this class.
Expectations: Given the tackle depth that exists in the program, it will probably be a few seasons before we see Mills competing for. starting job. He feels like a slightly smaller version of Cam Williams and it wouldn't surprise me at all if he emerges as a start in his third season in the program.
Must See Junior Film: Enjoy.
