Astros clinch tonight

They sound almost giddy… tug jobs all around, boys. 🙄 Let’s braid each other’s hair after the game. Good grief…

This reminds me of a comment Charles Barkley once made about refs. He said players should be allowed one opportunity to hit a ref during the season. Sounds good to me they should do that in every sport. Of course he wasn't serious but now that I think about it......

Charles Barkley said a lot of sh!t.

I remember during his retirement presser, he's sitting there in practice garb holding court in the stands-- reporters all around him.

A reporter asked him "Charles, you've had a great career. But is there anything you regret about your career?"

Charles looks at the reporter, gets a serious look on his face and says "You know what? There is. I do have a regret."

The reports gasp---

"Remember that night I got in that bar fight in Houston, and I threw that guy out the 2nd story window of that bar?"

The reporters all nod quietly.

"I regret that. I really do. I regret I didn't throw that mother fvcker out of the 3rd floor window"

I have another Charles Barkley story. It was his first game on inside the nba. They have a 7 second delay to eliminate anything inappropriate.

But this was his first game so they weren't ready for him. An NBA player tested positive for steroids. Barley said I played with him. I've seen that boy naked in the shower ain't no way he's on steroids.

Barkley is classic. I like his response to people who give him a hard time about not getting his college degree... "I may not have a college degree but I have a lot of people who work for me that do!"

Just missed seeing Shaq play in the State Championship game for San Antonio Cole in ’89. I was at The Drum when my alma mater, Clear Lake HS, played and won their State Championship game just prior to Shaq’s final.

Always regretted missing that game. I’d heard he was special. Barkley was always entertaining when he played for the Rockets. Shaq’s a class act.

I went to Deer Park. Man, what a great, heated basketball rivalry between DP and CL! Many, many great games!

I graduated with DP’s longtime basketball coach Billy Carlisle. Lake’s coach, Bill Krueger was the nation’s winningest coach when he retired.

Billy’s dad, George was our high school principal and his older brother Buddy was head basketball coach at Creek. Buddy passed a few weeks ago.

The Carlisle's are great people. Bill Krueger always held them in very high regard. Krueger was a helluva coach. RIP Billy and Buddy Carlisle.

Billy’s best buddy, Hank Bauerslag, played for Texas following graduation. Billy went to Baylor, where both his dad and brother had played.

Hank stayed at Creek his senior year. What a team that would have been had he gone to Lake with Billy. Hank died during his freshman season at Texas while he was out jogging one morning.

Hey Kenny's no slouch and Ernie is the perfect straight man for all of this.

One thing that I caught out of the video was Kenny throwing his support to Julian Castro, who is the former mayor of San Antonio. Castro is the bottom of the barrel and a disgusting human being.

Michael Che did a Steven A Smith impersonation in that skit that was funny. Charles did Shaq and that was funny to.

And Tony La Russa a bitter man after the game and demanded that Astros admit the hit by pitch. And if not walked out mumbling if they didn’t, we are not honest.
Take an Uber home tonight Tony after those drinks you are about to down, instead of driving home like you did not to long ago.

It might interest you to know that the Astros will play the Red Sox for the pennant. I don't follow baseball but you can bet I'll be putting for the Astros this week I hate the Red Sox.

I also saw that sob Selig's brewers team was eliminated by the braves. Good.

Former Longhorn Corey Knebel gets the start tonight for the dodgers against the Giants in the elimination game 5.
The Giants have their own Longhorn in 1st baseman Brandon Belt.
I’ll be rooting for the Giants.

Well at the end of the 8th inning it's tied 1/1. You know I don't like the dodgers manager. He's been successful no doubt. I'm sure he's a good man away from the game. But I hate, ran really hate the way he uses pitchers. The dodgers are already on their 5th pitcher and they've only given up 6 hits.

What in the name of Sandy Koufax is going on here? He did this against the Astros when they played 4 years ago. Have you noticed how long dodgers games are? Longer than most I'm certain. Pitching has changed in today's game you don't have to win anywhere near 20 games to win the Cy Young award now.

I'm guess I'm too old to like pitching in today's game. Now in my 60's I grew up watching Koufax, Marichal, Drysdale, and Seaver, and Gibson, my all time favorite player. And compete games were a badge of honor with these men. Ok I'm through being frustrated. Btw the giants pitcher went 7 innings and played outstanding.
