Astros clinch tonight

I as well. But I do relish the opportunity to shut the dodgers up. Dislike them almost as much as red sox.
Robo-Watch out for Chris Taylor. Dude is on fire.

Their starter got scratched they are using their game 7 starter on short rest. The Dodger players are dropping like flies. We are back home in front our crowd. We are at full strength with our hitters expect Acuna and Ozuna. Braves won't let it slip two years in a row. This series should of been done in LA and should of been a sweep. We have a guy as well that is hot on the Braves at the moment named Eddie Rosario.

I hate the Braves. I hate em almost as much as I hate the Brewers( owned by Bud Selig. I have to spit behind my back everytime I say his name) I dont like the dodgers, but I dont hate em.

Bud Selig is the worst commissioner in the history of sports. Although, Manfred is running a close second. I thought we had no chance without McCullers. Now I feel exuberant!

I don't have a dog in the hunt as far as the Astros/Braves goes. But knowing the Astros destroyed the pompous, allegedly blue blooded Red Sox the last 3 games brings a big smile to my face.

And a far as the Braves go first they beat that sob Selig's brewers and they just beat the dodgers a team that won 18 more games than they did. I'll bet they thought they could go on cruise control after they beat the giants.

So from @outhereincali a big thank you to the braves and the astros.

I'm going watch all of the games at home. Don't feel like fighting the crowds, parking issues, overpriced bar tabs, grossly overpriced tickets, etc. I guess I'm getting old, lol.

I hear you LMM! I got on the bus home from work passed parking in front of MM it was $80. LOL! I contemplated buying a ticket for $650 but that’s two plane tickets to somewhere!

Damn.

For tonight only, Jose Altuve is my spirit animal.

One of the best plays I've ever seen by a 2nd baseman.

Braves pitcher is a fvcking junko. Dude throw some serious crap at the plate. He's Maddox without the control.

I was sorry to see Morton leave the stros. He was the victor in game 7 against the dodgers to clinch the series.

As I drove to work this morning, I decided to turn on the radio (my usual routine is just a quiet drive). Anyway, the main topic was about how long the game took (4hr 6min). I don't know who the guy on the radio was, unfortunately, but he made a good point. Other than the 9 pitching changes, statistically, it was a pretty normal game as far as pitch count and other things I can't remember. I also missed if he had any solutions to the down time issues to shorten the game. I only like to watch Longhorns baseball and the world series, so I am a very casual fan. Any of you more hardcore baseball guys @LonghornMM @RoboCocks21 @Oldmanastro or anybody agree with all this?

Length of games has never been an issue with me, I just enjoy it too much. Are there to many pitching changes at times, sure, but that's the game today. Gone are the days of getting yourself out of jams and the complete games.
They have recently put a "clock" on the pitchers, but you rarely see it enforced. Hell, the tv coverage never even shows it, but you can see it at the stadium.
I do get bored with the NFL games though, too much stoppage time in between plays, too many commercials.

There's far more commercial breaks in a baseball game than a football game. I believe the length of the games has played a part in the ratings drop in baseball. All the commercial breaks leads to people becoming disinterested.

The guy Greeny had on was a purist, but he was still pissed this morning from what had transpired last night. He thinks it is going to continue to hurt MLB and that MLB should deal with it.

Some things that grate on me about baseball are the goofy "unwritten rules", batters stepping out of the box after every pitch and readjusting the batting gloves, knocking dirt off of their cleats, adjusting their batting helmet, etc. Pitchers fidgeting around on the mound. These kind of things are what slows the game down. I wish the umpires would tell the batters to get back in the box and put an end to all of the time wasting stuff that batters and pitchers do.

Agreed.

The rules for the little league world series was batters had to stay in the batters box and could only have one foot out the box.
