You always want to win the first game in a series. 1-1 isn't going to cut it. Let's get up 2-0 and go to Boston and kick ass!
Man I hate to see him go after this season. I just don’t see it in the cards ownership paying out the big bucks to keep him. I hope I’m wrong, It was hard enough to see Springer go.
Yeah, it was tough seeing Springer leave. Unfortunately the same thing is going to happen with Correa. The Astros aren't going to give him a 10-year deal at $30mil+/year that he wants. He's gone.
I trust in the Astros org to make right decisions. They’ve made them for the past few years with player selection. If he goes it’s gonna suck but what will ease the heatburn will be another WS ring for Houston.
If ‘Stros don’t get past BoSox, blame the pitching. Too many lead off walks early AND late in games. McCullers out for the series is bad news.
Damn, Boston stole home field advantage winning today. Now heading to Boston for three in a row. Not going to be easy without having McCullers.
Poor pitching… too many early walks, dingers. Astros don’t have the pitching to compete in ALCS/WS.
Not there yet, but close. Pitching is key in playoffs and we have suffered. Injuries killed us, starting with JV at beginning of the year.
The Astros need to try to maintain what talent that they have on the roster and contemplate what they have in the farm system, which is pretty thin. They are losing several key players. It's a shame that the Astros didn't win two more WS when they should have. To be realistic, unfortunately the window has closed. The only thing that they can do is try to make the best decisions possible to try to get back in the playoffs going forward.
Correa is a good hitter, but dude needs to stop coming out of his shoes on every belt high fastball on the inner half. I mean dude tries to donkey punch every one of those pitches.
I hope that I'm wrong, but Boston will win the series. The Astros don't have the pitching.
Valdez must have heard you talking because he's pitched one helluva game so far.
That was awesome by Valdez. Taking 2 games in Boston in front of their arrogant fans and joe buck gushing about them since game 2 makes me giggle. They talk about those grand slams so much, but we have outscored them 17-1 since the 8th inning last night.
In order for us to win this series and the WS is for our bats to be hot. Put 6-9 points on the board and take the pressure off our pitchers. Yesterday was outstanding!
