Astros Playoffs

Taking back home field advantage was huuuuuuge!

Looks like Bregman took the retaliation for Correa. J/k It was just a bad pitch and a bad dodge move. Bregman dodged that ball like armadillos dodge headlights..... JUMP!

Let's get 2 more Stroz!

Supposedly a 2-2-1-1-1 takes too long.........said the league with a 162 game regular season.

Baseball is ridiculous. I know they've played a 162 game season forever, but come on, do you really need that many games to decide who makes the playoffs? Chop the season down to 100 games. That's plenty.

Same with basketball. Do you really need 82 games there too? Chop it down to 60 games there. Hell, 2/3 of the teams in the NBA make the playoffs anyway.

You got that right! As much sense as it makes to shorten baseball and basketball seasons, it'll never happen for that reason. Regular season basketball is unwatchable. Regular season baseball is watchable, but the games would mean more if the season were shorter.

144 would be plenty. Or..... Go back to top 2 teams in each league play to advance to world series. After 162 games you dont need 5 teams advancing per league.

So apparently tipping is cheating? Isn’t tipping similar to tells in Poker? You see it and take advantage of it. Can’t help it if your opponent gives away their hand or in baseball their next pitch.

It's all about the benjamins (to quote Ilhan Omar). More playoff games mean more money.

Saw that Yankees fans were taunting Zack Grienke last night about his battle with social anxiety and depression. Wow. Stay classy, NY fans.

That, and the whining about stealing signs, whistling about pitches, etc.
It’s getting old and they are reaching cause they know they are in trouble.
Boone is really beginning to feel the heat about some of his decisions.
I like it!

Could they move to a 3-3-1 format? I'm sure the 4 travel days is the major issue with the 2-2-1-1-1. A 3-3-1 solves that problem. Swings the advantage back towards the higher seeded team a bit more than a 2-2-1-1-1 but still gives the lower seeded team a chance to win their home games. Also, it's baseball, 3 game series are the norm.

It only adds 2 more days if a series goes to 7. Mlb brass won't get me on their side of the debate as long as they keep playing 162 game reg seasons. There's pleeeeeeeenty of wiggle room to shave 10 games off the schedule. Jmo

Well, last night did not go as planned. JV gave up 4 in the 1st, and we couldn’t get any timely hitting, so the 4 held up.
Today turns into a bullpen day for both teams. We have Urquidy and Peacock who could both go deep innings. I actually like Urquidy.
The crowd will be loud, so hopefully that’ll wake up the bats.
If it happens to go to game 7, we go to Cole, and I like our chances. I’d rather not, and save him for game 1 in the WS on Tuesday.

Go Stros!!
And Hook Em!!

Hopefully the Astros can hang on. I'm pissed at Hinch though for continuing to put "automatic out" Alvarez at DH though!

I hear you but I had the same frustrations with Springer back in 2017. I had a semi-heated debate with a co-worker the day of game 2 of the World Series about sitting him, or at least dropping him down the lineup. From then on he was the MVP.

And keep in mind the big hit of the night so far came from Yuli Gurriel. He came into the game batting .050.

I hear you. He did pinch hit for him tonight finally, but it didn’t work. 3 outs away.

Altuve with the walkoff hr, bring on the Nats!

Helluva stressful game. Helluva stressfull day of sports. Dont know why we love doing this to ourselves so much but I guess it's our crack.

Goodnight gents, I've had enough for the day.
PTSD or sports PTSD.

One of these days someone is going to write a paper about the difference.

I know someone that is doing that. You'd be a wonderful case study.

He was due! That’s what I said as the announcers said he was battling 1 for 20 in this series.
