There is absolutely zero reason behind vaccinating kids. The survival rate is damn near 100% for everyone 18 and under.
Local vaccinated and boosted libtard here. Kids 6 and 14 vaccinated as well. I don't know why you are so triggered by this. The effectiveness is so low because Omicron is a pretty significant variant. The protection was quite good vs the multiple strains that emerged before Omicron.

Kinda hard to have a functioning economy 150,000 hospitalizations and a significant number of workers calling in sick due to high fever and respiratory distress. If you plot surges in hospitalizations and the Federal Reserve Production Index you will see a negative correlation meaning Production dropped as hospitalizations increased. No I know, I know correlation doesn't equal causation but if you think about it high levels of hospitalizations means high levels of transmission and while lots of people aren't dying people aren't able to go to work because they are sick or they are at home with their 4 year old who has a 103 fever. The economy suffers either way. Sweden didn't do lockdowns and people got sick, and their economy suffered anyway. IF you don't want the economy to get hurt then mask up during a surge. If you want to prevent a surge in the first place then you need to have herd immunity. We are probably pretty close to that now due to the Omicron surge. However I don't think that will last very long because we still have pretty significant global transmission which means more variants.
Some fair points-- but without the risk of sounding like an armchair QB-- because it's well documented on here that I've said this since, well, a month or so into this-- WE, as a global community, took a sledgehammer to a mosquito.
Hospitalization rates go up artificially because many people do not have a GP physician that they see on the reg. We know this because "Doc in the boxes" are everywhere now. If Doc in the box doesn't have the answer (often times you see a PA or a nurse, not a Doc) they tell you to go to the hospital.
How do I know this?
One of my teammates from college owns a sh!t ton of Doc in the boxes here in Texas- and that's right out of his mouth.
Couple that with the people that didn't need to, but went to the ER because they were scared. Yes, many needed to be hospitalized but many did not. People were being put in the hospital with covid that had pneumonia. Healthy people. People that would have been just fine with meds and fluids on their own couch or in their own bed.
Covid didn't overload our health care system because it was such a massive pandemic-- it over loaded us because WE as a society, are panicky and stupid.
As I said earlier and have said 1000 times-- when this kicked off it should have been the sick, old, immune-compromised and fat that stayed home. The rest of our population should have carried on with our duties and kept the world spinning.
