Problem is if he was watching the wrong player he would never ever admit it.
You prefer em in shorts right?Talked to him after his team got blown out by Corona (Calif.) Centennial.
Honestly, Liebrock did not have an impressive performance. Caught a few passes but not for big yards and he wasn't used in the offense like I expected. Still a very talented kid but I wanted to see him dominate and he just didn't do it.
Here's the story:

You guys keeping thinking this is the Mack Brown era where we must have 18 of the top 20 players to be successful. Players that come in that dont get developed or get stronger.
I can’t wait for you guys to see how this team hits and how physical they will be. This is going to be fun to watch the undersized Big 12 teams go up against.
Yea, those 2 Mack Brown 13 win seasons, the 12 win season, the three 11 win seasons and three 10 win seasons really sucked. He never developed any players. And all those NFL players from his era could have made the league right out of high school. Zero development
And moved him up after seeing him at a 7-on-7 event. These threads are always amusing.
Move a guy up after a camp/7-on-7, nobody cares. Move him down, it's a crappy system and only games should count. Until a guy then struggles some in games.
The rankings guys literally can't win either way.
Explain the Roschon Johnson ranking then please. #48 in the state is down right laughable and a fireable offense. And moved him up after seeing him at a 7-on-7 event. These threads are always amusing.

This thread is kinda sad. The guy evaluated him, and walked away a bit underwhelmed based on the one game he saw. Disagree with him if you like, but he gave you his honest opinion.
Not every opinion of our recruits has to be “he’s the best ever and looked incredible”. I trust our staff and their evaluations, but I still would prefer to hear people’s honest opinions, whether positive or negative. I can decide for myself how much or little stock to put into them. It’s just a data point. Everyone is so defensive.

The issue is consistency, which has always been lacking. Do they move all recruits based on one game?
We are now being told in this instance that game footage is more important that previous camp performance. But for other recent movements it was because their camp performance was better than previous game footage.
It’s only a no win situation when you paint yourself into that corner.
Don’t know but we “should” all know by now that some players appear great when playing with a dominant team. Vice versa. His QB sucks.
Truth here...there are some things to be concerned about with Herman, but player development and eval is not one of them.I’ve never felt better about evaluation and development at Texas personally.
We’re not being told anything about what’s more important. The guy watched a game and told us what he thought about that game, and then gave us an article with quotes from the kid.
That’s about it. And then everyone here got a massive case of feelings about a rankings drop that may or may not even happen in the future and really doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things anyway.
We are told what is more important every year. See recent thread on top 100 list update where we were told that recent camps trumped game tape. Again, they pick and choose what data points are relevant to support their conclusions. Of course they will never admit that, but it’s obvious to most.
I don’t have a “case of feelings” about the where the rankings fall out. It’s the people doing the rankings trying to act as if they have some fool proof, unbiased system that bothers people.
