I just wrapped up with Texas football coach Tom Herman after practice on Thursday. Here is your injury report prior to Kansas.
WR Collin Johnson (head injury) - probable; participated in practice this week
LB Juwan Mitchell (sprained elbow) - probable; will wear a big brace
DB Chris Brown (forearm) - out
LB Jeffrey McCulloch (shoulder) - out
DB Jalen Green (shoulder) - out
DB Caden Sterns (knee) - out
RB Jordan Whittingon (sports hernia) - out
DB Josh Thompson (foot) - out
In addition, here gave a Whittington update.
"The plan is to continue his rehab," Herman said. "He had a follow up appointment yesterday, or two days. The days are so long, they're running into teach other. Yesterday or Tuesday, or so long and running into each other yesterday or Tuesday, back in Philadelphia. Got an injection. The MRI looked great. There's still a lot of swelling in the area, but the MRI of the procedure looked great. No tears of anything of any kind. It's just a swelling and pain issue right now that we're trying to manage with with medication. He's a progressing a little bit slower than than what we had hoped because of that swelling. When he's ready, he's going to play."
Herman also said there have been no discussions about redshirting Whittington. However, if Whittington is not available until later this season, Herman indicated they might revisit that option. It is not on the table right now.
