The Longhorns needed a catcher for their 2025 class. The Horns got exactly that in Barbe HS (LA) Presley Courville. The talented catcher from Lake Charles is athletic, with a solid arm and pop time behind the plate, and a good feel for his barrel through the zone. He recently ran a sub seven (6.7) 60 time and showed off a really strong arm from left field. Behind the plate, he is very solid and does a good job of receiving the ball and framing pitches, while utilizing his strong arm to keep runners in check.
Courville is very familiar with the new Texas staff as he was a one-time Texas A&M commit, ultimately deciding to open back up his recruitment back on June 28th when Coach Schlossnagle and staff left College Station.
Courville becomes the 21st commitment for the Horns 2025 class which is currently ranked 2nd by Perfect Game behind LSU.
