Is anyone following this saga? My God, this is an all-timer. Never piss off shaggy in the off-season.

Danny is a McCombs-reject aggy accounting grad student and (soon to be former) PricewaterhouseCoopers intern. First this sack of sh*t registers a bunch of fake Texas-fan Twitter accounts and sends racist tweets to various recruits Texas is targeting. For example, one tweet he sent to J.K. Dobbins:

"Selling yourself to other schools and not coming to UT like a n*gger, wow. Don't be a total f*ggot, #HookEm."

The dude being a complete imbecile (retweeting these sockpuppet accounts under his real name), shaggy discovers his true identity in no time at all. The shag being the shag, they went scorched earth (posted his address, phone number, and pictures of his family's house; also contacted PwC and his school). He then denies that any of the accounts are his, but immediately after being exposed, all of the fake racist Longhorn fan Twitter accounts as well as his own, in a stunning coincidence, are immediately disabled.

He then sends a pathetic email to blacklab, the owner of shaggy, threatening legal action if blacklab doesn't remove all posts about him. blacklab lobs an ICBM his way in response, including informing little Danny that he had registered the site danielfigurelli.com, would document everything about any lawsuit there, and would leave the site up in perpetuity.

Figurelli's email:

Mr. Richards,

My name is Daniel Figurelli. As I am sure you are well aware there has been quite the fight over on ShaggyTexas about me and certain tweets.
I will cut to the chase here. One of your users contacted my place of work and proceeded to lie about me tweeting racist things out. (you can find all this information on the recruiting notes 2017 starting around page 152 or 153). I will make this short and to the point, I have offered for anyone to prove those tweets were mine, and no one produced anything and instead blamed a twitter user on me. I was then informed that very interesting things were said about me over on ShaggyTexas about me, like “Hope DFigs gets his Ag ring, when he ends up selling his mouth on craigslist.com as a cross dresser, someone is going to shred him and that ring is the only way they’ll identify the body” Posted by JTWilson22 on 4/17/2016 at 8:12PM. Now I have contacted my lawyer, and both contacting my employer and the threats on your site is two different things I have grounds to sue on. Now I am not going to sit here and threaten suit, but after the call from my employer saying people had gone so far as you find my information, find my place of work, contact them, and then proceed to lie about certain things crosses the line. My employer suggested that I deal directly with the site owner (you) and ensure the person who called them is not allowed back on the site as it is defaming one of their employees. I seriously doubt you want your site allowing death threats and people to breach employee and employer privacy after I contacted you with this email informing you of what is going on over at your site. I trust that all posts about this issue will be removed and I can inform my lawyer and employer that they have all been taken down. The individual who contacted my place of work is has the username of: RocketHorn1978 on your site. Please feel free to look over his posts and see that what I am saying is true.
If you would rather keep the posts up I totally understand as it is your site, and I will gladly get you in contact with my lawyer and the two of you can take care of this.

Regards,
Daniel Figurelli

Owner's response:

Do you really have a lawyer? Did he tell you to write this email? This was the most pathetic attempt at a threatening email I have ever seen. If he did you need to file a formal complaint with the state bar. You want to see a threatening email?

Go ahead and sue me. I do not give a shit. I've spent more money on lawyers in the last 5 years than you will make in the next 20. Here's what's going to happen when you do.

1. I went ahead and registered danielfigurelli.com. Don't believe me? Look and see where it goes to.
2. I'm going to document everything about the lawsuit there. I own a web hosting company. I buy bandwidth by the terabyte. It will not cost me a thing to keep that site up forever.
3. Pretty soon it will be the number one result in google for your name. Good luck finding a job if the potential employer ever enters your name into google.
4. As soon as the lawsuit is filed I'll make motions and subpoena your employer, your home ISP and your cell phone provider for all records of you on line.
5. I will subpoena twitter for all records and IP addresses, emails and records associated with the twitter accounts you claim you do not own.
6. I will subpoena the email providers associated with the twitter accounts for anything related with these twitter accounts.
7. At this point it will be pretty simple to prove that you are behind these accounts and the lawsuit will be dismissed.
8. Good luck finding a job once it's proven you've made these twitter accounts.
__________________________________

For a fuller summary, including screenshots of the racist tweets and an actual interview with this sh*tstain by someone at HornSports, in which Danny offers up the most pitiful cover story imaginable (admitting that the accounts were once his but claiming that he sold them), see: http://www.hornsports.com/forums/topic/12108-the-daniel-figurelli-interview-warning-nsfw-language/

And in case you want to observe the slow, methodical evisceration in its entirety, here's the giant shaggy thread: http://www.shaggytexas.com/board/showthread.php/169558-Daniel-Figurelli

Danny's now the subject of a long thread on Reddit, accounting blog posts about how to destroy your career before it ever starts, and numerous threads on other message boards. Google will memorialize his brilliance forever.

Pooooooooooooooor aggy. Karma is indeed one unforgiving bitch.

Aggsy are stupid, and now he is screwed royally. I'm sure a few Texags.com posters will come to his aid and create a few new twitter accounts and start tweeting that stuff out again, just to draw attention away from him.

What he cannot not run away from is the fingerprint you leave when you post that garbage. Your IP address is tied to each tweet. So unless he was going to a bunch of library systems registering each account and then posting he is going to get caught. And even if he did it at a library it's still going to be tied to his library card.

You have to be a pretty good hacker to hide yourself, and I doubt he is that smart.

How can grown men and women go this far about sports? I love sports but at the end of the day they are contests that some win and some lose. I can't fathom pretending to be a fan of another school to make that school look bad...this guy needs mental help. The topper is he was not even smart enough to realize that he would get caught..how stupid can a person be? He has ruined his career before it ever started and all for trying to steer recruits away from a team that he does not like...this guy wasn't saying "come to my team it is great"..no no no he was trying to make a team he hates look bad by using racial remarks. This should be considered by other idiots who don't realize employers don't want this kind of person working for them.

I will say he must be true aggy because he hates Texas way more than he like a&m.

Wow, just wow. Stirring things up on a rivals site is one thing but doing what he did is a whole 'nother level of obsessive idiocy.
He's threatening a defamation lawsuit for being exposed and yet I'm sure there's a gaggle of UT lawyers salivating at the chance to crucify this turd for defaming The University of Texas with his tweets. Guess who'd run out of money first. He's now 100% at the mercy of the shag. Ouch! Karma MF'er!

Yes, he is well and truly f*cked -- and not just in the short term. Good luck with any employer who might Google your very uncommon name, Daniel.

He definitely won't be working for PwC or any other Big Four accounting firm now. I wonder if aggy will move to expel him. Even if not, it's hard to imagine him showing his face around there again. His parents honestly had better have him on suicide watch, because he just tied a live grenade to his future.

I'm normally not a big fan of internet mob justice, where the reaction is so often disproportionate to the offense, but I don't feel the least bit sorry for this disgusting loser.

First rule of the Shag...don't f*** with the Shag
No joke. I occasionally take a look at the shag when big rumors are flying but 80% of the posts are amature comedian attempts at getting a laugh which is fine but not my cup o tea. One thing for sure, you don't want to piss off that group during a slow period. They will take you down faster than the anonymous hackers. That d-bag earned it.

He brought every bit of this on himself.

He brought every bit of this on himself.

Yep. And it's not like this was some moment of weakness that could happen to any of us. He deserves everything he has coming.

Something interesting: Silence about this on aggy sites. No widespread condemnation and outrage that an aggy student would do such vile, malicious, cowardly sh*t. Just an apparently collective silent agreement to pretend he doesn't exist, lest he serve as yet another painful reality bomb tossed inside the bunker of self-righteous delusion which most of that fan base inhabits.

I'm pooping. And I just had the most satisfying poop I've had in years. That was the greatest legal tirade since "the people vs. Larry Flint".

Now it's time for TP then baby wipe then TP.

Good point. The aggy fan base has the largest group think of any fan base in the country.

Any athletes or parents on here?

Clearly, Tweets can't be trusted, unless they come from an official account like @Strong_TexasFB, @_CoachGilbert or @TexasFB.

It's a serious decision. You could be at the same school for 6 years, even. Make sure you like it, and the town, before you commit. Are the people there nice, honest, and accepting? Can you stand the traffic, if you're going to live off campus? Does it have a place of worship that you like? Shops? Parks? Events? Does it have good hospitals, orthopedic surgeons, neurologists, etc?

How far will your family need to travel, to see your games?

Plan to get a degree that will help you after your playing days are over. Do they offer a major that prepares you for a career? Meet a professor or three. Attend a few classes. If you're having difficulty with a class, what sort of support is there?

Fall in love with a school by keeping an open mind. The school you love might not be the same one you've always rooted for. It might not be where your buddies (or coach) want you to go. Hopefully, though, your parents agree that it's the one that's best for your future.

You want to play, and I get that. You've got to check out the roster, and see if you will start soon, or end up as a backup. That can all change quickly, though. You can't see into the future, where a transfer from another school, or a 2018 (etc.) recruit could end up changing everything.

Make sure, though, that you're going to love your teammates. What sort of guys does this coach recruit? Are they young men of character? Do they get into trouble, much? Do they love the coach?

Official visits can make most schools and towns look good. Take unofficial visits to see what they're really like. Talk to older friends who are there now, or recent alumni.

Which schools offer a degree that is actually worth something? Do you like the town? Drive and walk around. Are people polite to you? Notice anything disturbing, like Confederate flags?

Then, there's the coaching staff. Which HC tells you the truth, and looks out for you? Which coach is going to keep the whole team on track, instead of letting things slide? Are athletes getting into trouble with the police, or accused of rape? What happens when they do?

You're probably NOT going to end up in the NFL (, NBA, etc.). You've been told that you will, probably, but the reality is that you probably won't. If you DO have that ability -- and you DON'T suffer injuries that don't put an end to that -- then it really doesn't matter too much which school you go to. NFL scouts are going to notice you, and you could go to Alcorn State or wherever, and they'd still notice you.

Consider how this choice will change you, as a man. Will you be a better man, prepared for the world, with this coaching staff, school, academic major and town, or with that one?

---

If the top recruits were this thorough, I've gotta think (even) more would be heading to Texas to be coached by Charlie Strong or Shaka Smart, or wishing they could.

I kind of feel sorry for him. Then I go back and read the racist, hateful trash he was posting and it goes away. Guy is mentally ill. True aggy.

I don't know about the final conclusion in your last sentence, but .... you should publish this and give it to every guidance counselor in the state. This is a great guideline for any student, not just athletes.

I do not understand the draw of twitter. I get it's applications for organizations to send out messages and updates, but as for the individual on I don't understand the use. Other than receiving updates from organizations it seems like it does more harm than good. This kid just made all the wrong decisions.

He's delusional so it's impossible to gather logic from his plan, but those tweets made absolutely no sense, everyone could see they were troll attempts. Not sure what he thought the endgame was going to be. As soon as he tried to draw attention to those tweets he was immediately linked up as the suspect. Kind of like a criminal going back to the scene and asking the cops if they looked under the dumpster yet.

It's really simple:

This tard was picked last for kickball his entire life. He wanted nothing more than to be worshiped as an athlete. When his dream exceeded his grasp, he settled for trying to be a guy in the "know".

When he discovered he would never be a guy in the know, he resorted to doing this so he could brag to his pseudo friends that he could influence recruits to either come to aggy or NOT go to UT-- which ya know, is just as good in warped aggy mind.

He is the epitome of a pathetic individual. And in the words of Donald Trump, "I will pay your lawyer bills if you punch this guy in the face". Assuming of course I don't find him first. Metcalf, SWVAHORN, I'll take great pleasure in holding him down while you two alternate.

I'm thinking kidney shots for an hour or so.

I just spent 20 minutes browsing through that sh!t stain website texags, and not ONE WORD was mentioned regarding this racist, homophobic, piece of human garbage. Not. One. Word.

There hasn't been a single aggy even disavow him. Not one. Had this been a UT student, every God damn aggy on the planet would be calling for arrests, Grand jury indictments, sanctions-- and this piece of chit fan base is acting oblivious to all this.

WTF is wrong with these people? Never in my years have I seen such an obvious display of trolling hate speech and none of it, not one word of it, has been condemned by aggy fans or admin. Everyone still crying over johnny and too busy to care that one of their own perpetrated a race/hate crime of fantastic proportions?

Yep. Like I said above, nary even a mention of him on texaggy, Rivals, or 247. Total silence.

Very telling.

Sounds like a plan clob!

Because that's what they do. They lie online to try and influence recruits. Their websites are pure dishonest propaganda in general. There's also a huge contingent of racists in that fanbase. They honestly probably don't think he did anything wrong. They're ugly, ugly people.

Just took a phone call from a great friend of mine, a class act, life long Husker fan- in fact he such a true Husker that in 2010 when I went with him and his brothers to Lincoln for the final Nebraska v texas game that we won, as I was leaving the stadium, Husker fans (some not all) were very upset at my orange shirt and hat, and he and his brothers got right up in their asses about their behavior. " Nebraska fans do NOT act like that!". Sooooo needless to say, this guy is a solid human being.

My phone "ring ring------ ring ring"
Me- "what's up hoss?"
Him- "so I was getting caught up on the Shag, (he likes the 'post a pic that makes you lol' thread) and who the heck is Daniel Figurelli?"
Me- "an absolute fvcking tard that interns at pricewaterhousecoopers in Houston and before you ask,,,,,, yeeeeees I've already called them to let them know about this..."
Him- "what a piece of crap! (He's Midwestern so crap is an actual curse word...one of the worst in his mind)"
Me- "ya, this guy just called down the thunder when he messed with the shag.."
Him- "I don't know what's more disturbing, the fact that this guy dud what he did, or the fact that no one at TAMU has gotten out in front of this and thrown him to the wolves. You know this is a hate crime right?"
Me- "I know it's hate speech but I don't think it's a crime......." (he cuts me off, he NEVER cuts me off)
Him- "Brother, I'm an engineer not a lawyer, but I promise you......THIS can be prosecuted as a hate crime. He called 17 year old kids 'ni**er' and 'fa**ot".

(At this point my jaw is on the floor because I've known this dude 20 years and I've NEVER heard those words escape his mouth)
Him- "There is absolutely no place in college sports for actions like this.... no place in society for that matter. I swear to the almighty if I didn't live so far away I'd drive to his office and split his nose open!"

Me- "Oh I feel you bud...."
Him- "And another thing..... you Texans basically invented the term posse--- you all need to round up a posse and teach this peen a lesson.... you shouldn't stand for it!"
Me- "I agree......"
Him- "And as far as I'm concerned, the entire fan base at that school, I mean NOBODY.... (my name) NOBODY has spoken out! NOBODY! I've always admired people from Texas from afar but the fact that Texas people, even aggies, haven't said one dad gum word about this is just.......beyond reprehensible."

That's as level headed a guy as you will ever meet--- this has nothing to do with his beloved Husker yet he's fuming mad about it.

Speaks volumes.

I don't think calling people those names is a crime yet in America. It's social suicide but I don't think it's a crime.

Not being a cruiser of Shaggy....and not being on Twitter, this thread is the first I have heard of it.

And honestly I think anyone tweeting at high school kids needs to be arrested. But if the dude did the crime, he should do the time. Regardless of school affiliation.

If you call someone a fа66οt for the EXPECTED purpose of antagonizing him, creating anger, or attempting to harass him, Freedom of Speech is no longer protected under the attempt to incite a violation of the law, or Imminent Lawless Action as defined in Brandenburg v Ohio (US Supreme Court, 1969).

A hate crime is an offense that is meant to intimidate a whole group or classification of people, not just the individual at whom the word was targeted. He tweeted it in a "public forum" meant to intimidate the kid as well as offend anyone else who read it. Using the N word as well as the F word was meant to incite hatred among a group of people---- namely other recruits.

Dude got what he deserved. Might be time to legally change his name.
Anyone tweeting these kids (good or bad stuff) should stop. Begging an 18 yr old to play for your team is sad. Doing what this kid did is much worse.

It's free speech, sure. But the 1st amendment protects one from the government, not employers who don't want to be associated with sh*tty human beings, especially financial and accounting service organizations who have a professional image they like to project.

Unprotected Speech, is speech that is not protected by the first amendment. Fighting words that are likely to provoke a hostile or violent response from an average person, fall under that category. It can most definitely be a crime. Trust me, most would just prefer to handle it themselves...but things like that aren't said face to face.

Wow! He's screwed. Just typed his name in Google and it pops up with the words "racist" in it. I've always said that children and some adults should not be on social media. They post without thinking ALLLLLLLLLLLLLL the time.

For sure. Like I said it's social suicide and he is rightfully going to have his problems gaining employment. I was speaking to the point that this was a crime. I guess possibly harassment?
