Daniel Figurelli -- shaggy exposes/destroys aggy POS sending racist tweets to recruits as Texas fan

The consensus among these older men was that "Sumlin was a n****r, but He's OUR n****r....". That's a direct quote from one of the 8 old men at that table. That's a "wink and a nod" good ol' boy, fireside chat. Did it surprise me?

The reason so many of us are Uber pissed about this is not just because of the words he used.....not just because of whom he targeted...... but the fact that he tried to represent himself as one of US. The feeling I'm getting from my aggy friends is "oh, ya--- that dude. He's a piece of trash. Blah blah- one bad apple- blah blah.....". So I follow up with, " Sooooo you're not AS pissed as you'd be if someone on our side dud this to ya'll?".

I know those old dudes. And if you think you don't have any in your orange brotherhood you're kidding yourselves. I know NOT so old guys who are huge horn fans that make me cringe and I have to ask them to not use certain terms around the kids. We all have them.

And what would Horn fans propose we as good upstanding Aggies do to the racists in our midst? Should we condemn them as they act a fool, as we always do? Or should we set up sting operations and root them out? Maybe a witch hunt of some sort?

They do something stupid, they get denounced. End of story.

OK, when the next racist aggy rears his ugly head in the near future, be sure and tell us again how it happens everywhere. Sorry, but not all cultures are alike. Trying to paint Longhorns as the same as your fanbase is simply false.

If I'm self righteous for calling out racist POS aggys, then so be it. And my point stands that our university cultures are not the same. At all.

Aggy group think is that austin is full of "hippies and f*gs and dope smoking liberals". Amiright?

Horns group think is that howdy town is full of "red necks, goat ropers, sheep humping, jizz jar filling cult members".

Now I ask ya---- which of these two groups is MORE likely (I get that it's stereotyped) to be grouped into racist or bigoted roles?

Not everyone is austin is gay or smokes hippie lettuce.

Not everyone in college station is a red neck or fornicates with sheep.

However, we DO have lots of hippies, weirdos, tree huggers and a large population of homosexual individuals in Austin.

WHY? Because they feel safe here. Birds of a feather... like minded individuals...etc.

Sooooo in "part", the stereotype of Austin being "hippie, liberal, pot smoking, gay etc" is kinda fitting.

Now take what I just said and apply those properties to college station.

You make a decent point, but A&M is nothing like it was back in the day. Back in the early/mid 90's when I was in school A&M had a ton of small town kids. I was a small town kid myself, but not a real country boy.
The student body is no longer full of kids from small towns. Or at least they don't look the part to me. Last time I was on campus I was kind of sad not seeing all the country kids. Felt like any other student body. I don't have the stats, but I would be shocked if the vast majority of kids weren't from Houston or Dallas or San Antonio metro areas. I am sure A&M is still a lot more conservative than Texas, but it is no where near as conservative as the stereotype. Racists aren't wanted, but I wish there was a conservative alternative for kids. Not sure it exists anymore. God knows there is no shortage of liberal options on college campuses.

But I'm old, so all these kids look the same to me.

By the way in 4 and a half years I met a lot of rednecks, and probably some goat ropers (not sure exactly what a goat roper is). But I am glad to report that I never saw a jizz jar or sheep humper. But I was not in the corps.

Racism has always been there, but only now is it coming out more so than in the past. I've seen much more racism coming from blacks and Latinos than from whites, but when a white guy says it in an open forum you have to acknowledge he is an ass, just like any other racist POS out there.

I'd like to round up every racist POS out there and stick them in a big cage and let them go thunderdome until only one can walk out. Then you stick him on an island and end the problem forever.

Guilt by reality. Now lie to us again that you don't watch Fox News. lulz.
I am a bit different, but I watch a couple MSNBC shows and am a conservative. Morning Joe is a morning favorite, and crazy Chris Mathews is also regular viewing. The only decent shows on Fox are O'Reilly and to a lesser extent Meagan Kelly (she was such a piece before she started popping out babies).
Sometimes when your side is a mess, it is more fun to watch the other side. So they can remind you why the alternative is worse.

By the way, what does being conservative or watching Fox make you guilty of?

that is the problem.....sides......"my side"......."your side".........aaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!! No one thinks for themselves. I have issues I would fight for on the left and I have issues I would fight for on the right.

2 different things. Fox News is pure propaganda that makes you less informed than watching no news at all. That's a proven fact.

Just pointing out that oldschool is a brainwashed Fox lemming who likes to call me Alinksy and a Russian, that's all.

Fox is wildly biased, I'll give you that. MSNBC is just as bad or worse. And every other major TV news network is left of center, but attempt to be less obvious about it. You are better off watching more than one network, because there is no straight news anymore.

I never said you were a Russian, or Alinsky.

I said you use Alinsky's rules quite nicely. Namely #5 which states you should ridicule those who disagree with you as they'll spend all of their time refuting your claims.

And I said that saying kids from small towns are more likely to be racists sounds to me like Russian and Nazi tactics to round up political enemies. (guilt by association) And since you seem more politically aligned with the current "progressive" movement, which leans WAY Socialist.....I said you would agree with the tactic.

Fox News just has Trump speeches and commercials for ED drugs. I need neither.

When people can pick the news that suits them instead of the actual news then people are going to be truly uninformed. Nowadays if you don't like it you just pick one you do like.....or you pick the one that thinks like you instead of seeking and finding the truth. just my .02

Do you think President Clinton was "waayy left"?

Do you think President Reagan was "waay right"?

Sure, only a fool thinks one side is right 100% of the time.
Did you vote for Bush, McCain, Romney, Daddy Bush, or Dole? If not, you probably picked a side and don't realize it. Most informed people believe one side is better than the other, even if both are terribly flawed.
I have met people who voted for little Bush, then voted for Obama 4 years later. Made me think less of them. No interest is policy positions, all about personality. Like the Trump thing, it can not be based on his policies - no one knows what they are (including Trump).

Was in grade school for Reagan. I think Clinton was actually pretty effective and definitely more centrist than the current admin. Unfortunately I don't think his wife is going to be Bill's third term.

Its the haircut! After the Trump dust up a couple of months ago, it looks like she uglified herself in order to be taken more seriously as a journalist.

By today's standard both are a big No.

Clinton was a great politician. He was pragmatic and did whatever helped his polls. No democratic politician today could do what he did with welfare or crime reform today. Not sure he believed in either, but it was good politics in the 90's. He would do fine today, pretty sure he would move way left in today's environment (then towards the middle before the election). Dude could play the game.

Reagan would not be far right enough to win the nomination today, but in 1980 he was considered very far right. Love the man.

I liked her better when you could watch and feel no need to listen. She hasn't been the same the last couple of years.

Ummmm..... ya'll better get back on track or MM going to show up and lock this puppy.

Disagree. There's definitely confirmation bias with MSNBC but at least they deal in reality. They'll argue why it's good that the sky is blue, Fox argues that the sky is green. You're welcome to your own opinion but not your own set of facts.

Not that it's at all surprising, but Shag posters who know people at PwC have said that Figurelli's offer of an internship this summer and a full-time job after graduation has been revoked.

Hey Danny: Suck it, bitch. Maybe your local H&R Block will give you a chance. Was it worth it?

My opinion is that Fox and MSNBC are both wildly biased. Pretty sure my opinion is a fact. Have you seen the Rachel Madow show? Or Lawrence O' Donnel, AL Sharpton, Chris Hayes - they are all huge leftists. It is like Sean Hannity or Fox and Friends in reverse.

The reason you think they are less bias is that you agree with what they are saying. Doesn't make them less biased. Both channels are propoganda networks, how can you not see that?

Because I'm not brainwashed. I can recognize those using facts to make an argument vs out and out lies. Because Rachel Maddow is liberal doesn't mean she's in the same universe as Hannity or O'Reilly in terms of propaganda.

When there's a study out there showing that MSNBC makes you stupid like there is about Fox, I'll listen to your pox on both of the houses argument.
http://www.businessinsider.com/exte...y-be-detrimental-to-your-intelligence-2010-12

World Public Opinion, a project managed by the Program on International Policy Attitudes at the University of Maryland, conducted a survey of American voters that shows that Fox News viewers are significantly more misinformed than consumers of news from other sources. What’s more, the study shows that greater exposure to Fox News increases misinformation.

So the more you watch, the less you know. Or to be precise, the more you think you know that is actually false.

I watch the bbc. They have no dog in our "fight" over here so they don't sugarcoat sh!t. But you still have to be intelligent enough to separate the sh!t from the cotton seed otherwise, it's no better than a chain email.
