On another Texas website,it has stated his request to Transfer from Texas. He will have to sit out a year and cannot attend any Big 12 team.I think Charlie is trying to teach the young man a lesson and he does not want to listen and do things "his" way.As a player your actions reflect on the team and university.

As a Longhorn alum, what we do also reflects on The University. Show class, dignity and respect in everything, towards everyone.

Best of luck to him elsewhere. Hope he learns whatever lessons he needs to.

I have no clue what he did. Still I trust that the staff made the right decision. And I was looking forward to him playing here. But c'est la vie

Unlike some of our rivals who don't.
From what I've seen reported he evidently had clashes with the coaching staff among other things and then of course the alleged assault on his gf. I hope he's able to get his life right before it's too late. Sounds like a lot of talent to just go to waste.

Just out of curiosity, what's leading you to this? Was he already in trouble or something?

Sounds like he'd sit out a practice if he was on your squad.

Too bad he can't transfer in conf. If he did in deed assault a girl, that's right up Stoops alley. Stoops would even help hide the video evidence. If it was bad, he'd just RS him (you know, like the only coach in D1 that uses RS to punish)

I get that he has his core values.

My question was what makes you think he was in violation of any of his core rules? Versus, just wanting to transfer because of competition/homesick/girlfriend/etc?

TIA

Because he was suspended for violation of team rules/core values...He was sent packing and then requested a transfer.

From what I have heard, he likely ends up at a SHSU type of program.

? I thought he was suspended?? When did he get kicked off the team? By "sent packing" , are you referring to him being sent home?

Yes, he was sent home. He didn't get kicked off, "officially"... It didn't have to come to that.

UCF, Miami or Utah. He's getting away from something.
Strong's release nixed a transfer to any school in the Beg 12, Nostrum Damas, UTEP or Cal. McNeal then announced that he would consider two of his previous finalists, UCLA and aggy. Guess he had to change his plans.

But, I do hope the best for the young man - had such high hopes for him at UT.

Even if Strong didn't block a big 12 transfer he still would lose 2 years of eligibility right? I don't think big 12 would be an option if that's the case.
