diet for weight loss

ok I'm mid 40's and have put on 15 lbs of bad weight in past 18 months. feeling it in my knees and back. do cardio (jog or stationary bike) 3-4 times a week and do a crossfit style class with weights and cardio on Tuesday and Thursdays.

question is for dieting I know what is good and bad to eat, but if I follow these basics should I see some results and get some quality energy/fuel for workouts?

breakfast: egg whites and turkey bacon
lunches: lean meats like fish, chicken etc with veggies
dinners: same as above with the occasional red meat

drink lots of water and lay off alcohol during the week.


looking for suggestions.
