No concessions should be made by UT. The cake is baked. If you don't like it go elsewhere. Herman's response was half-assed and it bite him in the behind.

Yes, universities are part of the problem. Texas and many others no longer requiring SAT/ACT scores as part of their admission requirements. Soooo, UT is now a sports franchise with a large book club in tow.
My oldest son took the PSAT as a sophomore in high school last year and scored 1100. He is half Hispanic/white (whatever that means) and posted his score to the public college boards. He is getting harrassed daily by universities, so apparently, they do consider these tests when they desire. He wants to major in data science which is statistics. Apparently, UT is highly ranked in this area of study and UT is sending him stuff.... We have decided to skip the traditional brick and mortar route for university. He is going to go the CLEP and DSST route which will allow him to graduate with a BS in data science from an online school which means he will only spend 6 hours for residency in classes. Everything else is self study. He will have his BS in data science at 19 and enroll in a python boot camp from there. This is all VERY low cost (less than $1000)... except for the boot camp. Boot camp costs are decreasing every day so that shouldn't be bad.

A key driver of our move towards Idiocracy is the concept of "equity" - a term used freely by Biden, BLM, and the left. Most don't understand what it really means.
Most folks understand that 2 + 2 = 4. Some don't understand basic math. A growing, flourishing society values basic math and teaches everyone that 2 + 2 = 4. It pushes everyone to at least develop the basic tools needed in society. Meanwhile, those that already understood it continue to develop intermediate and advanced math skills.
A society focused on "equity" just does away with basic math altogether. It says, "We shouldn't make those that don't know 2 + 2 = 4 feel bad." It doesn't require those that don't know basic math to do extra so that they learn that 2 + 2 = 4. Basic math goes away and now everyone is on par with each other. No individuals can take the initiative and grow and shine above the others. Everyone falls back to the lowest common denominator. Idiocracy.

Growing up the term freshman didn't have any association to masculinity to me anymore than the word women did. Neither did Junior or Senior. Those words simply meant lower and higher. The mental gymnastics people go through.....
