Everyone be safe out there and hopefully this isn't too bad. Headed to Dallas tomorrow night so I won't be staying through this one. Again hope everyone that lives close enough to be in it's path stays safe with no damage to your property.

I'm about 20 miles east of Houston. They are saying that we could get between 15" and 25" of rain through Wednesday. I'm really hoping that they are off on that forecast. Got plenty of food and drink. Just planning on hunkering down and riding it out at home.

How can you have 15 to 25 inches of rain without flooding ?

There will for sure be some flooding in Southeast Texas. However, the 15" to 25" hopefully will be spread out over the next five or six days, which keeping my fingers crossed, we won't see too much flooding. Its going to happen though, but no one knows exactly where and how bad it will be at this point.

Glad FBH is out of town. He would be taking a direct hit.
uh oh you are in danger of getting the stink eye from FBHorn for insinuating his whereabouts even though he posted the itinerary of his whereabouts for the next couple of months.:)

Bell....I dont know why you cant help it, but you cant.....why oh why do you go out of your way to bait him?

It's been pretty rowdy. Woke up to a loud boom around 3am and had to find out what it was. Turns out Harvey didn't like my well-house or pressure tank. Tank is laying on the ground, well-house nowhere to be seen, well pushing water 3ft in the air. Had to go flip the disconnect.
Now the models all show it busting a u-turn to come back and give me the finger in route to Houston

So far it's been quiet here on the Northside of Houston with some howling wind but not bad yet. I didn't make it to Dallas so just riding it out. Hope everyone is safe.

Its having no electricity,no A/c for days that I would really dislike,You do not appreciate it until its gone.
You got that right. I figured our power would go out so rigged up my 2 generators to keep the essentials up and going. Luckily our electricity survived but my damn water well took a hit. Go figure.

Talked to my co-worker, who lives in Corpus and he said that he has no damage to his vehicles or house. He is without power-lost it at 8PM last night.

Spoke too soon. Power went out shortly after that post which is about the same time the eye went over us.
On the bright side, I've got a metric crap-ton of fresh naturally harvested firewood. Fun times

Supposedly its going to roll back out to the gulf, gain more strength then come straight back in at Houston. They cannot catch a break.

Fresh, where do you live?
Just outside of Stockdale. Never would have thought we'd get cat 3 force winds this far inland. We got our power back up last night & I was able find our pressure tank and replumb it back to the well.
Pretty much stranded due to our county road being a river and covered with trees. I'm getting the tractor and chainsaw ready to start clearing a path. We're lucky because it could have been a lot worse for sure.

The pictures and video's of the destruction and flooding are just unreal. Hope y'all coastal/h-town longhorns are safe!
