I agree with the rest that say "Let it go". The more people that love to talk sports on this site, the better. MM really is fair. Once you post here longer, you will see. Just stay away from politics/religion... He and Orangebloods allow back and forth smack, but, when it gets excessive the thread will be locked. He only bans people that don't listen to the warnings or follow the board rules. BTW, don't feel bad, we have all gotten a warning and/or temporarily banned at one time or another-even people that have been long time regulars.
You're easily one of the best posters on here (along with scholz, bringbackroyal, elcapitan, and oldhorn) so I can dig what you're saying. Moving on.
Maybe you are right, but when that day comes, I'll be done with college sports and stick with High School, of course until the day comes when high school becomes the same way and I'll be done with sports all together.
That wouldn't be a smart move on your part to do that. You really should let it go, tone things down and move on. You'll be fine if you do so.

The name calling came from him. longhornsoldier has always been honest that he was not in the military...he went off on an avatar for goodness sake......just like people have Soldier of God tattoos and such....him calling longhornsoldier a "liar" is petty...just because ALL of US disagreed that College football players should not get "whatever the market dictates" he actually thought we were attacking him....silly. I was in the military it doesn't make me one bit better than anyone else...it does not make me have more honor or any of that nonsense. I brought up my DD 214, because I was called a teen know it all, by a dude with zig zag in his name...you guys tried to prove a lot more than me, with your "teenage" comments, as if that made some of y'all feel big. Cause and effect. And y'all know just like I do, that ya'll would only act this way with your typing fingers. It's like bizarro world around here. The dude called me narrow minded and I let that be, then he starting talking real tough...so I gave him what he wanted, and even said he would talk tough and then run to the mod, and he did.
Like I said before, I go to all the games and would love to meet with anyone before a game. It was a dumb argument. I'd buy you a drink and everything. Let me know, the offer still stands. If not, have a wonderful day and nice typing to you.

How the heck did you stay out of this back and forth. Not sure what side you would have been on, but I can't believe you stayed out of the fray. I was afraid you were sick.
Let's assume Ole Miss spends $40M a year on football (I admit this number is made up). When they won 2 games, it cost the $20M per win. 4 wins would be $10M per.
Let's say they have spent a million under the table, (which is a sky high number). They now spent $41M for 10 wins. So $4.1M per. I haven't had a finance class in a few years, but that seems pretty good to me. That last million was more important than the first $40M.
The only schools with a trophy of value recently are Ohio State, FSU, Auburn and Bama a few times. Maybe LSU or Florida, but those were well before Freeze.
If they got SMU'd, then no doubt you are right, but that ain't happening. They will probably loose a few scholarships, but I bet they still win a lot more than 2 games.
I don't like Longhorn on Longhorn crime. It's like Mommy and Daddy fighting. aggys and $ooners are always fair game however.

Now having said that, I say this - I am over it. You arent the first person to talk stupid to me, and you arent the first person I offended... shit happens. I moved on, do the same. We have differing opinions and short fused tempers, but its over. Lets move on. As far as I go, this is a non issue anymore. I have been here for a long time and faught wars - so to speak - with various posters, Mods included, and now we all get along. Tempers flare and ppl get butthurt - me included - so lets say we bury the hatchet and move on to brighter days of banter on the board.
And if you are serious about meeting up at a game for a beer, then I may take you up on that, and we can look back at this and laugh. Stay gold Ponyboy.

I never served a day, I even had to goggle what a DD214 was. So I wasn't going in that direction. So I have to leave that to other vets. Serving in the military is highly respectable in my book. And nobody should go around talking about great they are, which I didn't do either. But I already explained why I said look at my DD214, it was the "16 year" old comment, from a guy with zig zag in his name. It was an appropriate response. If you don't get that simply because we disagreed on the convo, so be it. Lol, you were cool for most of the convo, so no problem. But I didn't take to kindly, to a guy with zig zag in his name, calling me a child. Not when I'm a disabled vet, that has been in combat...so yeah, I took that some kind of way (although I shouldn't have because he doesn't know me). But all is good, because this is in the internet, and we know how that goes. Lots and lots of typing.
