Men’s Hoops: Do you care?

I was at that game. UT had Wacker and LaSalle Thompson - a beast who later became a no. 1 pick in the NBA draft with the Pacers. The game was at the HOT in Waco- Heart of Texas Colosseum. An old barn with a dirt floor that they placed the hardwood on top of - a real dump. UT was ranked no. 1 I believe. Wacker went down with a blown out knee or ankle coming down with a rebound, missed the rest of the year, and the team fell apart. He was a great talent until the injury - too bad.

UCLA 7-19 3pt, 8 total turnovers. Hmmm.

If anything, it makes the loss to ACU look even worse.

Hey guys the ladies won put a thumping on Bradley 81/62. You never want to be satisfied with going to the 2nd round. But anything we do now WILL exceed expectations. Hey you guys were saying Del Conte hired a winner in Vic Schaefer lets start paying attention.

Schaefer hopefully will have the women's team competing for Final 4s in a couple of years. That said the women's game just isn't that exciting by comparison. I've never watched it much. Maybe the championship game but not even always then. Volleyball is a different story. Women's volleyball is much more exciting for me.

Was very impressed with USC's performance against Kansas. It felt like a bigger/faster/more skilled/better shooting/better-coached NBA team playing a college team. They did not seem to be in the same league.

Is Euro 2020 going to happen? If not, this summer is going to be boring.

Our girls also have the number 1 draft pick for the wnba this year. Our volleyball girls are about to start play for playoffs ranked number 2!

If Vic had the best player in the country and only pulled a no. 6 seed ....

I keep seeing how she's gonna be the first pick but I haven't seen anyone say she's the best player in college. I hope she does go 1 but usually a player that dynamic elevates their team a little higher a 6 seed. Remember the ladies game isn't as deep as the men's.

In three years against Baylor, Collier played in 7 games, and had 29 points and 25 fouls. Including 17 and 14 this year. To Drink's point, you'd kind of expect a No. 1 pick to be able to lift a team on her back. Don't get me wrong - she's a really good player. But no. 1 in the draft good?

I never stated anything about the best player in college. But she is also a finalists for the Wooden award which is the best player in college. @diadevic

First round
1. Dallas Wings: Charli Collier, 6’5” Center, Texas [EE]

The No. 1 pick of the 2021 WNBA draft has changed hands, but Texas Longhorns junior Charli Collier remains the top selection in ESPN's second 2021 WNBA mock draft after plenty of activity since the free-agency period opened.

The WNBA has decided on a date for its 25th draft. The Dallas Wings have the first two picks and Charli Collier of the Texas Longhorns is expected to go No. 1 overall

Update The Big X and the Big XII sent a lot of teams to the big dance. But only 2 teams made it out of the 2nd round.

2 teams from the ACC
2 teams from the SEC and I'm going to puke if AL makes it to the final 4.
4 teams from the Pac XII. And either OR or SC is guaranteed to get to elite 8. I mean the Pac XII sucks at everything try to figure that one out.

Then you have schools like Creighton, Loyola, Oral Roberts, and Gonzaga, small schools

Good summary. That may have something to do with my waning interest...

I don't have twatter..........is CDC "Tom Herman" quiet right now? Is the general thinking Smart is gone? I assume CDC would have made a statement by now if they were holding on to Smart........right?

#33 for UCLA was a very dirty player (but also a damn good player). She ultimately injured her knee late in the game. The girls are tough players. They definitely have my respect.
