Nick Saban accuses a&m of buying entire 2022 recruiting class

This is just another example of Jimbo showing his weakness. Seems like he runs his mouth and then runs from confrontation contrary to what he claims. He runs from gatorade baths(scary), he ran from their bowl game last year and he ran from Saban the other day when Saban reached out to him after his comments. If he wanted to confront Saban, he would have taken his call but instead he ran like a little girl to a makeshift interview with reporters giving him a podium. Embarrassing for A&M imo. Everyone is on to you A&M and you will be the butt of all jokes when you lose another 3 or 4 games this year and run from another bowl game.

Now I can agree with that and thats probably why their NIL deals are currently so low. Over time though that isn't going to work imo. They are going to have to pony up eventually.
I have read that the teams that have had a lot of success over the last decade or so - Alabama, Georgia, OSU, and Clemson - are not offering NIL deals to high school recruits who have not proven themselves on the field. Instead, they're telling recruits that the NIL money is there once they establish themselves once they get to the school - and a lot of it.

I read an article on Eleven Warriors (OSU) a few weeks ago that basically said the same and that they're pointing to their putting players into the NFL where the money will far exceed any NIL deal. I guess it makes some sense. Some of the current OSU players have some very sweet deals with the local Columbus businesses.

If you look at the massive amounts of NIL money to HS recruits, it's coming from schools like TAM, Tenn, USC.....etc who haven't won anything in awhile and will do whatever it takes to get back into the winners circle

So how much did tOSU spend on Quinn Ewers last year?

They didn't. It was a New Jersey marketing firm that he had the $1.4 million with - and still has that deal with after he transferred to the Horns. The deal stipulated that he needed to start / play in a number of games by the end of his sophomore year which was why he transferred as he was not beating out CJ Stroud who is being projected as the no. 1 overall pick in next year's draft. In fact, Ewers was behind former 5-star McCord who is sticking with OSU hoping a shot at starting QB next year after Stroud leaves.

Ewers did get a leased truck from a local dealer while he was at OSU but obviously returned it when he transferred.

Do I think A&M took advantage of NIL? Yes. Do I think Texas did? Yes. Alabama, OU, college football? Yes.

Kids that are 45 minutes from College Station in Houston and all wanted to play together which was deep in talent this year isn't that far fetched. Jimbo has recruited #1 classes. He recruited great classes the previous 2 years. He has more to work with here at A&M then he ever did at Florida St. He has better facilities, atmosphere, admin to get things done that he wants AND still the only school in Texas in the SEC You guys still don't even understand what this is going to do for you yet. I'm not saying A&M didn't benefit from NIL, BUT everyone else needs to man up and say they are "buying" players as well and not be like Saban and say they haven't bought anyone. A&M is a good destination these days with a lot to offer.

At least for me I’m not talking about the Texas kids. TAMU will pull Texas kids, especially the DL guys.

It’s the top recruit in the other 6 states lol.

Yeah and that’s where schools and Boosters are running afoul of the rules. My understanding NIL isn’t supposed to be tied to playing time etc because then the coaches are on the take

But keep in mind, the New Jersey company - GT Sports Marketing - has no ties to either OSU or Texas. Ewers was free to select any school but the company gets to use his name and image. He wasn't going to get playing time at OSU (obviously) until Stroud left which is why he transferred. My prediction - he'll light it up at Texas and will draw in other recruits - especially Texas HS kids

I love how aggies always talk about Jimbo winning a natty as part of the reason why recruits want to play for him. He won a natty freaking 9-10 years ago, most of the recruits were like 5-7 years old when this happened. They probably don’t even remember it lol.

If this were truly the case then Les Miles would’ve had recruits lined up to play for him at Kansas, or Mack at NC. If that’s what recruits cared about then Saban would win every head to head recruiting battle because he has so many natties.

The truth is Jimbo hasn’t won anything at Aggie. He hasn’t even won ten games! No one cares about what he did at FSU because it was so long ago.

It's the "evolution" of the game my man. I'm reallly close to dropping it. I'm getting old and just can't keep up, I have better things to do these days.

Is there a NIL money ranking of the top schools? I imagine a&m, bama and Texas are ranked high. Texas continues to be #1 in money earned, by a wide margin, with bama next. I don't think a&m was in the top ten.
And LSU has a gymnast with million dollar nil deal, so they should be high in the nil ranking too. 🤘

Hypothetical here: It appears that the SEC fanbases are ready for A$M to go elsewhere, they pretty much view them as an embarrassment at this point, see attached thread. In light of the A&M recruiting corruption, pay to play exposed by Saban and with OU and Texas moving in the SEC, can the other members use this as a reason to vote them out of the SEC and vote another team in?

I understand the colleges' view point but all of them will be at the auction in the years to come. They'll have no choice but to be. In the end a promise of money in the future (two in the bush) isn't going to win over money in hand now (one in the hand).

Hey Jimbo, tell me again how A&M isn't paying anyone. Liar, liar, pants on fire.

"According to the release from an official with the Pa. High School Football Coaches Association, White was told by Texas A&M that his Name, Image and Likeness money would be withheld if he participated in the Memorial Day event."

I can’t wait to see the witty signs in the student section and on ESPN college game day. NIL has put a new target on the back of schools that have used it to its recruiting advantage. Lower level opponents will also be extra amped to go after the NIL programs.

So let me get this straight, the White kid from PA., not from Texas, had offers from Bama, Clemson, Georgia, Ohio State among many others, which by the way of those schools I listed, combined, have won 7 of the last 9 CFB Championships, but instead chose to turn all of that winning tradition down and said "no thanks, I would rather go to Texas A&M who hasn't even won a CCG in forever and play for Dumbo Fisher and be a part of the Aggie Network when I graduate"

Aggie fan: Do you seriously believe this crap? Nobody else does and in fact most believe that your pay to play corruption is in the crosshairs due to Dumbo's ridiculous press conference the other day. He should have just ignored the comments but had to run his mouth and said none of his players had received any money. What a liar.

I guess Deion had A$M and NIL in mind with his cringey song back in the day ‘must be the money’

Hell....I wish all recruits would pay attention to what he did at FSU......Like quit on the team( I mean walk out never to be seen around there again) with 2 games left in the season with a losing record. This after one preseason poll projected FSU as the National Champ.

I wonder if Jimbo ever brings that up to recruits?

The FSU brass was fed up with Jimbo and his non-stop complaining and demands there. They held the door open for him to leave.

They have done very well since he left.

Regardless of how FSU has done, it is very telling how they didn't make any effort whatsoever to keep Fisher. And to Bell's point, thus far Jimbo hasn't done anything impressive at atm. Go look at your schedule for this coming season, there are a minimum of three losses there. Are you guys going to be happy with 9-3 or 8-4 again? As aggy likes to say every year, rinse and repeat, "next year is our year". 🤣
