OFFICIAL Playoff Argument Thread- Who's in and Why

Even if Flordia state wins out you can’t put them in the top 4. Just no where near the same team

Bama needed a miracle (4th and 31 TD) to beat a team that lost by 3 TDs to New Mexico State just last week.

Ohio State should be out, but I wouldn't be surprised if they show up in the top 6. The stooges will talk about the "quality of their one loss".

My guess for Tuesday:

Georgia will be #1, UM #2, UW#3, and FSU #4 (as I think they beat UF tonight). Oregon will be #5 and Ohio State #6. UT and Bama in the #7 & 8 slots.

Texas is likely gonna get left out. It’s not really fair but it is what it is. We are gonna get penalized for actually playing a schedule.

Yeah… I never agree to just sitting back and not applying any pressure to the QB. That’s almost never a good call.
even on a hail mary, if i'm only bringing 3, all 3 are coming off the left edge to create confusion and avoid a comfortable rollout. what would milroe have done-- run 30 yards???

If FSU loses and Texas wins, Texas is in. Otherwise you need Oregon to win and hope committee members aren’t as stupid as they appear
Yeah FSU is likely to squeak by their last two games. But the reality is they are not a top 4 team anymore without Travis. The committee isn’t going to do it, but they should be no where near the playoff now. It sucks for them I agree but if ere really about getting the top 4 teams then that’s the way it is.

I know you're Texas, but there is no love affair like the one for the Big 10. I'll be very surprised if the committee drops Ohio State below Texas in the rankings, and when the mouthpiece gets asked about it, he'll comment that Ohio State has the best loss in that it was a close game on the road to the undefeated #2 team in the country. And then the media heads will accept that, and just spout that UT can surpass them NEXT week with a win and a 'conference title'. The committee has already ranked Oregon as the better 1-loss team than Texas. You really don't think they'll do the same for Ohio State?

Flordia really isn’t any better than Texas tech right now honestly.
I'd take Tech over Florida (and its backup QB) any day of the week. Florida has better athletes, but Tech runs an offensive system that actually stresses defenses and threatens the scoreboard, whereas Florida is lucky to find 20 on any team with a pulse.

-Texas is 11am Saturday on ABC (no line yet)

-Oregon is favored by -8.5 over Washington, Fri 7pm ABC

-FSU favored by -5.5 over Louisville, Sat 7pm ABC

-Michigan is -21.5 over Iowa, Sat 7pm on Fox

-Georgia is -4.5 over Bama, Sat 3pm CBS

The path of least resistance here is FSU loss and the good news is Vegas thinks it’s going to be a close game. Assuming we win earlier in the day we’ll all be watching Louisville at the end of the night.

Well as far as ratings go we'll have that time slot all to ourselves.

To be honest I'm not surprised that Oregon appears to be a solid favorite over Washington. And Iowa/Michigan is a joke. We should at least be a 7.5 favorite.

I think all the ranked teams from 3rd to 8th will move up a slot that will make us 6th. Everyone needs to sit in the shade about Ohio State they will slide down to 8th.

Let's just take care of business Saturday morning and leave the big XII with a bang.

The bottom line is that Texas should not schedule tough teams OOC. We should cupcake all 4 OOC games in the SEC. There is no reward for doing what no one has done (win at Bama by 10) in decades. The writing is on the wall. CDC should back out of Meat Chicken and fOSU. No more scheduling difficult OOC opponents.

If I were CDC at the moment, I would be twisting Fox/ESPN arms by threatening to back out of valuable OOC games.

Those contracts are pretty iron clad

**** it let’s have absolute chaos. Louisville beats FSU, Bama beats UGA, Iowa upsets Michigan. Let’s make the committee actually have to do work.

No need to do that now. With the 12 team playoff it won’t really be an issue. As a matter of fact head to head wins will be more important.

If the win out with an unblemished record-they should get in. They are still a damn good team

Yellow and red support Texas. The green sections are where the eastern and northerners will screw Texas.

Meet the CFB playoff committee:

We have NO friends on this list (read the bios). It reads like a who's who of B10, SEC, ACC, and B12 haters of Texas circle jerk.

They’ll still get in. They just shouldn’t. Jordan Travis single handedly pulled 3-4 games out of the fire for them this year. Without him they have at least two losses. Maybe more.

Texas can’t really be depended upon to close out. They couldn’t take care of business with f*cking blowu and now they have to win the B12 Championship game. Let’s see if they respond and do what has to be done against the Gundies. Having said that, if they win, this little post on X is interesting:

We'll close out Ok St. The gundies are worse than tceh. I expect a blowout.

FSU non conf 3-9 Southern Miss, 3-8 Northern Alabama, and 5-7 Florida. Teams should be punished for playing FCS teams.

Yeah we played a good team in OU and got clipped. Maybe we should move to the ACC and play Duke, Clemson and BC instead

Or maybe we should move to the big 10 where the 3rd best team is Penn state who couldn’t score against a Texas high school all star defense.

^^^^this times 100^^^
Dyk that James Franklin is 0/5 against top 5 teams and 4/19 against top 10 teams? Hell Michigan didn't even throw the ball in the second half and they weren't even threatened. I'll be mad if they get to an elite bowl.

The whole Big 10 is a dumpster fire. Ohio State's best drive of the day came when they ran the ball up the middle for 8 straight plays. That conference is allergic to the forward pass. I truly believe that SC and Oregon will run roughshod on that conference simply because their offenses are from this century.
