***Official Texas vs Cougar High Gameday Thread of Nostalgia***

I DONT CARE HOW CLOSE IT WAS (ok maybe I care a little bit and I hated it) BUT WE CLOSED IT OUT. JAHDAE IS MY LIFE.
Hope Quinn isn’t hurt too bad, but man I’ve been saying it for a year now; Maalik has to learn how to throw a ball slower than 90 mph. And Jesus Christ PK learn how to defend a crossing pattern. Hook ‘em!!

Sounds like Ewers has either a collar bone break, or a ac separation. Both would mean probably out all year.

If Quinn is out for awhile(and I think he will be sadly) it will be interesting to see what Sark does. He probably owes it to Maalik to give him first crack, but wonder how fast he might go to Arch

Ok, well let's see what he does. BYU is next. They will come in throwing.
I’m thinking we’ll be run heavy against BYU with Brooks and Baxter and JWhitt leading the way. Brooks is who I see as the team MVP in QE’s absence. Smash mouth grind out game will open up some easy passes for Malik.

You know this or are floating it? I'm st s fvcking wedding and the signal sucks.
Rumor is broken collar bone or ac separation. Sark said "he could have gone back in" but who knows if that means to just hand the ball off or not.

as far as MM...i hope he can do it..but dude isn't known for his accuracy. Had a couple deep bombs in spring game (AGAINST OUR SAFTIES) everyone seems to think hes amazing..I hope theyre right.

Mack Brown doing Mack Brown sh!t losing to a 1-5 team.

“I'm disappointed in me,” UNC coach Mack Brown said. "I'm disappointed in us as coaches. Kids listen to us, they’re young people. It's our job to get them ready to play.”

How many times has he trotted that one out over the years at Texas and UNC? About the only thing he didn't add was "We didn't lose, we just ran out of time."

Is he supposed to say the players suck? Or let them sell uzis and cocaine in the dorms?

If we lose QE for any length of time that is going to hurt. He’s been playing very well and showed again his unique arm talent yesterday. That TD throw to X was work of art. A true legitimate NFL throw that gets serious attention from NFL scouts. He checked down a lot yesterday and in the RRS because opposing defenses were taking away his deep routes. Instead of forcing them into coverage he went to his check downs which aren’t sexy but they are damn productive. That’s a big sign of growth and development for him. I’m not sure Malik is at that level yet. I hope Malik plays lights out but we’re going to have to rely on our run game a lot if Quinn misses any time.

We got 2 turnovers in that game. I don't know if we w8n that game without those 2 turnovers--- and that's alarming to me.

Yes this was a weird week. A lot of close games for good teams. Keeping that in mind, this team doesn’t have a mean streak. They don’t dominate the teams they outclass talent wise. I don’t know if that’s on the players or coaches. Someone has to step up and say we’re gonna play at the level we played against Alabama no matter who’s on the other side.

Quinn checks down because Sark's offense gets massacred by a three high safety shell. Teams have been killing us all year with it and Sark doesn't have an answer for it. Sark keeps passing into it so Quinn checks out of it. Personally, I think Quinn gets frustrated with Sark's stubbornness and belief in his West Coast offense. Every team has run the 3 high shell except Bama. We need to run some bully ball... Go with heavy sets with an extra lineman or 2 at TE. Our competition will have to stack the box which will create favorable matchups on the outside for Mitchell and Worthy. ~~~ Rod Babers

The momentum shift occurred when we subbed 9 second and third stringers on defense after we scored 21. They marched right down and scored. This reminds me of Tommy Boy. He used to run all kinds of rotations that would get us beat.

Yep. Houston had ONE penalty the whole game and it was when the WR ripped the DBS helmet off. Make of that what you will.
