Well we got beat by Kansas....left our starter in way to long and kansas had only won one game in conference play and they take the series from us....

As I said earlier in the year, Pierce doesn't have a magic wand to make these players hit consistently. Augie was not a bad coach and believe it or not he knew a few things about baseball. The players are not good hitters, period. They might hit well on some Tuesday night games but more often than not when they have to face a decent pitcher they can't get it done. Too many holes in the lineup right now.
I agree. However, as a team, Texas is hitting much better this year than in year's past. I love Augie, but it was time for him to go for several reasons.
Our weekend series involves blowu and they are actually ranked #9 and took the series last week against Tech, which Tech sweep us. The gooners where 30-27 last year and went 11-13 in conference and they have our old pitching coach and he will be on the other side of the diamond this weekend. What was the turn around here? Is it cause they have a great pitching coach now? I am just confused about this, the pre season polls had Tcu, Okie lite, Tech, Texas, West Virginia, then the rest. I understand they are pre season polls. Thoughts?

This team is getting better with every game. If they get in to the NCAA's and I think they are likely to... I wouldn't want to play them.

Mathis was back in the line up tonight and hit a 2 run bomb. We beat Texas State 9-2. This team is interesting to watch this year, this makes for an interesting Big 12 this year.
Tech is 7th and Tcu is 9th nationally and if I am not mistaken Tech took this series last weekend against Tcu. We should of never lost that series to Tech. This is a tough weekend for us but if we can pitch strong and get those bats going we can take the series. It will be difficult going to ft. Worth and taking the series though.
Oh yeah one more thing we have turned the most double plays in college baseball this year with a freshman with stupid range and is a vacuum at short, the best short stop I have seen on the field in awhile.

Augie is a legend and I am grateful for his time on the 40, but, I am so glad Pierce is running the show. Much m.ore business like approach
Took it to extras. Win or lose, I love the fight of this team. The down side to Augie ball was that it was so hard to make a big comeback.
Wow two close games....we come back on game 1 take the lead and lose it game 3 lead the whole game and let it slip again in the late innings....when will they learn from these games?
Texas beats ou in the B12 tourney 8-4. Hamilton is a Gamer. Texas will face Kansas in the winners bracket tomorrow night.
