OT: Great video of Glen Campbell playing in front of some guitar legends and blowing them away

Country music has become shite. I’d rather listen to Campbell’s B-sides than any so-called “hit” on Country stations nowadays. And I don’t think rock ‘n roll even exists any more except in the “oldies” format. I feel blessed to have grown up in rock’s heyday, and am sooooooooo thankful there are classic rock stations still in existence.

Classic Vinyl is about all I listen too. Maybe a little Classic Rewind, Soul Town, Willie’s Roadhouse and Bluesville.

Glen Campbell was probably better known as a singer, so sometimes I forget what a wonderful guitar player he was. I need to read up on the Wrecking Crew session musicians from LA that he was a member of.

Immediately to Glenn's right is Crystal Gayle, and to her right is B. J. Thomas. He is one of my all time favorites and I was lucky enough to see him at the Stafford Center a few years ago.

Yes, that is Sammy and Son next to him. Sammy and the Geezinslaws were one of Ralph’s favorite guests on his talk show. I assume that is why he is there. I don’t think he performed anything during those shows, but I could be wrong.

Billy Joe Shaver does a couple of incredible songs, as does Wilkie, and Kris K. Dan Seals does a beautiful version of All That Glitters as well.

My wife and I met Glen at the AT&T pro am at Pebble Beach in the late eighties or early 1990’s great dude just down to earth and not afraid to laugh at himself. At that same Tournament were President Bush and Barbara Bush, Bill Murry, Craig T. Nelson,
Cool memory and thanks for posting

Sammy came on Ralphs show one night and i heard the exchange like this

RE: please welcome the Geezinslaws

SA: thank you, Ralph

RE: how you doin’, Sammy?

SA: Ralph , its dry in Texas

RE says something and doesnt pick up on it

In a few seconds you hear Sammy clear his throat [ahem] and says, “Ralph, I said, .......IT’S DRYYY IN TEXAS!”

This time Ralph picks up on it and so he says, oh, Im sorry Sammy..... HOW DRY IS IT IN TEXAS?”

Sammy says “why, thanks for askin’.

Ralph, its so dry the bushes are whistlin’ to the dogs”.

Brought the house down.

Yeah...that is one of Ralph Emery's Songwriters and Signers he would do. Here is another great one.

Willie at his best: I love the look on Mickey Gilley's face and Kris K is priceless.

I have this saved on my PC......sometimes when I remember certain "moments" in my life I put this one on and have a glass of whisky in my home office and just think.
