OT: Las Vegas active shooter

I'm betting he used what's called a "bump stock". It's a legal modification that can be attached to certain semi-auto weapons to increase their rate of fire.

If you listen to the shots, there's not perfect uniformity. The shots speed up and slow down. Full auto weapons remain rythmatic in their firing.
Aaaaaaaand clob called it. AP, CNN, NBC, CBS all reporting that he modified his weapons with a bump stock. I've fired full auto as well as bump stock before. You can hear the difference.

His girlfriend knows. The one who went to the concert hours before the shooting and told them they would all die. She holds the clues and prolly knows the answer.
Ok---- everything I've seen there is but one female witness saying a "mexican" woman told them they were all going to die. The news reported at 4am that they had this dudes "Philippino" girlfriend in custody. Then they later reported she was "out of the country".

It either means she was "out of the country, but still in custody" by an organization like Interpol, or she was grabbed by feds and flown immediately out of country to a black site to be questioned.

She is out of the country. Supposedly he used her credentials. What I want to know is why he did it. He obviously loves guns so why shoot up a bunch of country loving and 2nd Amendment supporters. Ok probably not all of them but most right? I'm with Clob it just doesn't make sense. I'm not saying he didn't do it just think it's really odd.

It's the $100 per pull one armed poker bandit. I don't care how much money you "have". Those things are for SUCKERS. At least play the cards because the odds are around 55% house and 45% gambler. The programmed video slots are a complete scam. I am convinced that the video poker slots are monitored and payout when the casino can maximize bang for buck. DISCLOSURE: I don't gamble precisely because I know the odds are terrible. I have seen these casinos destroy my family members and this dude snapped b/c accumulated debt and prolly a horrible losing streak.

I just read that he tried to sue the Cosmopolitan a few years ago for "falling" in the casino.

Dude had 26 guns at the Mandalay Bay and more at his home. Nuts!

Do "millionaires" try the slip and fall routine? Typical big talking degenerate gambler.

Oh man the conspiracy theorist are already chiming in (none on this forum). "It was the 4th floor not the 32nd because I seen flashing lights" (in Vegas mind you) but no broken windows on the 4th. People flashing lights are all up and down the strip and around Vegas. Mandalay Bay makes money but there's not enough time to replace a window in a matter of hours. THERE ARE NO balconies at the Mandalay Bay.

Strobe flashes. Easy to see.

10 rifles, thousands of rounds, hotel room with a vantage point, last band of the last night at an annual country music festival, no doubt he'd planned this for quite a while.

How the hell he get all that into a hotel room? A casino hotel no less?

That shit doesnt just fit in a backpack.

You pack it in luggage and put it on a cart and take it to your room. Has anyone ever stopped and asked you what was in your luggage at a hotel? I would think the size and crowd of a casino hotel lobby would make it even easier not more difficult. I've heard a lot of comments about this and I don't understand why anyone thinks it would be difficult.

He was there since Thursday that's how. I'm sure some of those weapons break apart right? All it takes is a big luggage bag.

Updated:
"So the discovery that he had used 10 suitcases to methodically move an arsenal up into his Mandalay Bay room over the preceding weekend came as a shock to those who knew him."

Ok boys. Here's how easy this is.

All AR type rifles break down into two parts: an upper and a lower. There's further disassembly that can take place like removing the barrel and quad rail around the barrel. Once this is done, the components would fit nicely in a big ol' hard cover golf bag.... or two.

So, you pull your suv into the parking lot, your guns are disassembled in the back of it. You've already got two golf backs filled with guns and a rolling bag with mags and ammo.

You check in with golf bags and rolling bag and head up to the room. You're here to play golf.....it appears to everyone at the front desk.

So after you get settled in, you empty your bags and a little later, you head back downstairs with your golf bag. Head over to your car and fill your empty bag up with more guns. With all the comings and goings you decide to take a different elevator set back up to your floor to avoid people at the front desk going "didn't he just leave? And he's already back?".
You head back upstairs, empty your bag and relax for a while. A couple hours later, you go back down the new elevators, walk to your truck fill the bag again and this time go back by the front desk as if you're returning from your three hour golf outing.

This is "trade craft" and it's simple.

Pretty much sounds right also he must have kept them in the bags until Sunday or just did all that back and forth stuff Sunday.

Now for the reason? His daddy was a psychopath himself.

I'm going with one of these as motive-

DOJ says he wired 100k to Philippines a few days before. He was an accountant by trade- hasn't worked since 1988- self made yet claims to be a "professional gambler". Dudes use that line when they don't want you to know how they make their money. Perhaps he was laundering money for an organization and was skimming, got caught, decided to go down in a blaze.

2. Dude had a Charles Whitman sized tumor and rapidly started losing rational brain function, but could keep it together long enough to deal with ppl in "spurts". People like neighbors, gun dealers etc saw this regular Joe, but when he was home alone, he was cooking kittens in the microwave and masturbating in his own poop. It could explain why his girlfriend was back in the Philippines. Perhaps she saw the regression was advancing rapidly and she fled. He gets desperate and wires her 100k to try and "buy" her trust back--- she says "fvck off, we are through...." and keeps the money. He goes off the edge and snaps.

3. Dude was a closet political wacko. He hated the election results so much that after November, he decides to start buying guns legally and then converts them to "automatic like" fire legally. Knowing the only way to actually get Americans to pass tighter gun laws, he takes advantage of these technology loopholes "Bump stocks" to create these wicked killing machines. Because he spends a lot in casinos, he's probably got comps all over town so he finds an open air concert full of what he would consider 2nd amendment loving Trump supporters (a country music concert) and uses his comps to reserve a specific room over looking the concert. The "I'll show them!" mentality kicks in and he's going to make a statement about guns, once and for all. 60 dead people and hundreds wounded later---- here we are.

Dude had tons of cash invested in this. PHotos from the room are very revealing. There're 100 round mags stacked, 15 plus. As Clob mentioned, several bump stocks and he videod himself. You've got to wonder if his manifesto is on that tape.

He also had a large number of guns that don't look like they would be of much use to him there.

He seriously thought this out so for no one in his family or friends to even notice is just odd. I mean he never said anything off the wall. He had 23 guns, video equipment in the hallway and room ,ammunition out the wazoo, picked a festival with 20k+, a room high enough to have a vantage point and brought a heavy duty hammer to bust out the windows.

He also rented a condo that overlooked a previous venue.

Yeah that much firepower and ammo he clearly planned on being up there a long time. Luckily something caused him to stop.

He videod himself shooting in the room? If that's true he definitely said something on that video before he started shooting.

Drudge has links to pictures inside his suite. He apparently recorded himself as well as left a note. Will the gov let us pleebs know the truth? That's the real question. By now they know everything and are trying to construct a narrative that is palatable to all the elites. This includes the casino owners... Not putting forth a conspiracy but past experience tells us that the gov or the donors to the the politicians don't want to rock the boat with some dude's apparent grievances.

Fair enough but still what does that say about casino security? In Vegas no less. Thats a shit load of guns and ammo. Just waltzed into a casino without any notice.

Ive never been to Vegas but what a complete joke. Does anyone think he should have been able to so nonchalantly do this?

And no maid service the entire 4 days prior to his assault? He couldnt have hid EVERYTHING under his bed.

Again what an embarrassment for the Mandalay.

Eh with all these leaks so far I'm sure someone has the "note" if that's the truth. Now a days lying and having social media and videos isn't a going to cut it. Anyone that has the truth that isn't government would love to put it out there for us to see.

It was a suite and in Vegas at the Mandalay that room was probably two to three apartments in sq ft. Where he hid all of it is beyond me and if he didn't have the maids come in to clean for 3 days that would be odd. As far as walking in and out through the casino dude it's done every single day without question. Thousands of tourist come in and out, walking around taking pictures etc... As long as your key can get you to the suite area within the elevator your golden.

And WHY haven't you been to Vegas!?!

I think you are making a lot of strange assumptions. What hotel security setup would have stopped this? Guns breakdown and can easily been stored in pretty standard luggage. I don't know what it being a casino has anything to do with it. Casino security is higher because they are trying to protect their money not prevent stuff like this. No hotel has security capable of preventing something like this. If he would have tried to rob the casino then you would see their security protocols.

As far as the maid service a DND sign can accomplish a lot of that. Furthermore whatever luggage he packed it in he could have just left it all packed until he was ready. He didn't have to immediately set everything up upon arrival days earlier.

It's not a Holiday Inn express. Literally thousands of daily turnover and traffic in a huge lobby so someone carrying extra luggage or whatever isn't going to bat an eye from anyone. You don't even have to overthink it by timing out the trips to your car because no one is going to notice you.

Thinking about it now I'm sure people thought he had a few people staying with him since the suite is pretty damn big. Even though having 10 suit cases is a crap load now whether he moved them from one to another and took them back down to his vehicle I don't know. I get it though if you've never been to the hotels in Vegas it's hard to visualize how many people are in just the lobby area then include the casino.

Agree and I keep hearing people say that the hotel is going to be sued and they are liable etc and I'm not seeing that myself. I do think they'll get sued but I can't say I agree with it. Perhaps if he killed a lot of folks in their hotel but people demand privacy in these suites all the time so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary. What do they do install metal detectors etc?

With the video in the room, I'm willing to bet a pretty penny that he recorded a manifesto at some point.

Look, people don't go to this trouble and then fail to explain the most important part---- why?

He saw this as a teaching moment (I'm guessing) and what's a teaching moment without a lesson? The teaching lesson will be found either on the note left on the table that you can clearly see, or by a pre-recorded video of him prior to the shooting.

Look at the meticulous details this guy worked through-
Systematically stocked up on guns and ammo from multiple different dealers so as not to raise any eye brows. Buying 40ish guns from one dude looks....... suspicious. Buying them from multiple dealers, not as much.
He picked the perfect firing point venue.
He picked the date based on an open air event held just beneath his firing venue.
He set up monitoring cams to know when the cops arrived at his door.
He altered semi-auto weapons to function as fully auto.
He was able to smuggle an arsenal into his hotel room and keep it hidden from staff.
He erected two firing nests that provided him with a perfect firing vantage point.
He brought an industrial hammer to smash out the windows.

Seriously........ look at these fvcking details...... you can't convince me that he didn't record a manifesto prior to launching this attack.

This is calculated behavior and NOT providing US, his "audience", a reason or justification for his actions would not book end his evil masterpiece.

"What's in the box!?!?!" remember that?
